Arrival Story: I heard about 2 litters of pups in a backyard. The two Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier mother dogs were sisters, the sire was a neighbor's Chihuahua. There was 13 pups between the 2 Mommas and they were born a week apart. The pups fought for every bite of food with the other pups, the 2 Momma dogs and 2 other adult dogs. They had no human contact other than the woman that threw a couple of handfuls of food out and her son who occasionally kicked them. I went with a group of friends and we each bought a pup just to rescue them. Taco only had a broken tail and a belly fully of worms, she was one of the lucky ones. She was scared of everyone for months and would run the other direction when you called her. She was so tiny that she could fit through the chain link fence, I was terrified she would be so afraid of me that she would go through the fence. God kept her safe.
Bio: In 2003 Taco had a malignant tumor removed from her back. The incision was an upside down Y running from the base of her neck down and over both hips. That's how she got the nick-name Franken-Hua. In 2006 Taco had another malignant tumor removed from her back and on 7/23/08, my poor girl had 3 more removed. I pray there will be no more but the vet said she'll probably get more. Taco loves to ride on my 17 hand mule, *Rose, with me. She's a big dog when she's on top of Rose and she lets every dog in every yard know it! *Rosie has passed on and my heart breaks. She was 30 some years old but would have lived much longer if she had not been abused at an early age. Rose graced me with her presence for the last 15 years of her life and I thank God for every one of them. I miss you my Missouri Rose.

The Last Forum I Posted In: Sorry we are here again with such sad news....
I've Been On Dogster Since:
Woofers evfurryone. I had surgery on 5/6 to remove another darned old malignant tumor. Sorry I didn't tell anyone, it's been bad around here with Mom and I both being sick. It was harder for me to get back to feeling better this time, Mom worried for days. I'm back up to speed now, I'm playing with Lily and chasing the ball around the house! I "only" have 17 staples this time. I still have to be careful though cuz sometimes Lily jumps on me and that hurts then Mom yells at her and it just causes us all to feel sad.
Mom would post a picture but she's having trouble getting anything to download into the computer. Guess it's time to call for help.
Woofers to my Pals and their families. My Mom, myself and our family want to tell everyone thank you for your kindness, gifts and prayers. The support we have received is overwhelming. Maybe if silly Mom could stop bawling she might have the energy to write each of you a thank you note . . . unfortunately, even without the crying, she doesn't have much energy so, here's a BIG THANK YOU to all our friends. Dog Bless each and every one of you, keep you safe and healthy. Sweet kisses and happy wags from Taco and the kids, big hug from Mom.
Mom and I got some bad news from Dogtor Bart today. Mom's having trouble with her fingers being numb from her cancer treatment so she isn't able to feel too good along my back and body for lumps anymore so we went to Dogtor Bart so he could. Unfortunately, he found at least one tumor and he said there is probably more underneath. It is cancer, again. My surgery is scheduled for May 6th. Mom's been crying so hard, it hasn't even been a year since they removed the last 3 tumors. The time between them is getting shorter and shorter. Between Mom and I, we're a real mess. I think I handle it better than Mom, she thinks too much, ya know what I mean?
