Can you believe it’s been since February 14, 2008 since anyone has bothered to write in my diary. What?? I don’t count anymore?? For Zoe it has been about the same. So now it is time to play catchup. Technically, we have both done nothing out of the ordinary. A trip to Grandma’s and that was about it.
The one furless graduated 8th grade. So now one is a senior and one is a freshman. During the summer mom and the one furless went college hunting. I got to stay home with the furless that takes good care of us most of the time and Dad. Then Mom drove out to Ohio by herself (YIKES) to meet some dogster friends: Mellow and gang, Mingus, Vincent/Rosie, Kitai, Raven/Riley, N’awlins Gang, and Beast. Since it was in Ohio and a few had flown the only dogs met were Mellow, Vincent and Raven and their crews. What I don’t get is why we couldn’t go??? Mom drove, I’m a great passenger (not Zoe). But Mom just rolled her eyes the way mom’s do….. Anywho, she had a great time. She was gone for almost 7 days. We got away with soooo much. She still doesn’t know the half of it…..
So, summer came and went. We swam in the BIG pool, we dunked in the kiddie pool. We chased chipmunks and squirrels. Laid in the sun. Had ice cream. All the fun stuff without even leaving the yard.
Now that fall is here, the trees are blowing, the wildlife is out in full force. Just the other night there was a bear on out front steps then it went around to the back deck where we were outside. We barked and howled for Mom to come see our new friend but she wasn’t too happy. Ehhh, who knows with these humans……

Let's hope these diary entries get a little more frequent so I am not forced to make good on my threat to get a new secretary.

The "Valentine’s Day Tale Of Tragedy" Woes

Oh, woe is me. Valentine’s Day and I’m not on Dogster. How could this happen?? How can this be? Let me go back and try to explain.
It all started on the evening of February 12, 2008. You can read the start of trouble in Zoe’s diary. This is MY story. We woke up to ice, snow and no power on the morning of the 13th. NO INTERNET!! We could care less about power for heat or lights, it’s the darn internet that does the Momma in. We went through the whole day with sleet and ice and silence. By night the humans were losing it. Very sad. They were forced to talk to each other. Momma was fretting because of Valentine’s Day and giving out rosettes and all that.
So she gets an idea. The furless go to school, she leaves us to go to the library to use THEIR internet. Momma goes in and asks to use it. They say she can use it for 15 minutes if someone is waiting and longer if no one is. Since every one's internet is out she figures she has 15 minutes before anyone shows up. She logs on and wants to go to Dogster. BLOCKED. She calls over the librarian and says what is the problem? The librarian says they have a high filter on for questionable websites. Momma says “it’s Dogster!!!!!, an online dog community” The lady didn’t care and walked away. Rules are rules. Momma calls over librarian no. 2. and tells her she works for Dogster and must get on. The lady asks her what exactly she does. Momma says she has to moderate the forums and just check things out. The lady looked at her suspiciously. Was Momma telling the truth?? Of course not, but she was just stretching the truth slightly. SHE HAD TO GET ON DOGSTER!!!! The first lady came back and looked kinda mad. They wanted momma to prove that she worked for Dogster. GULP. Momma said well that is just plain silly. How can she prove it? The ladies said they could call. Momma said they are based on the West Coast and not in yet. So they said to come back later then when they could verify her story. Now Momma couldn’t do that?? So she figured she’d put up a bigger fight, nothing to lose or so she thought. Without getting into the nitty gritty, she lost her library privileges for two weeks. It was originally 1 week but Momma said something not so nice and they said two weeks.
So I went through Valentine’s Day without my Bertie and Zoe without her Charlie.
Who knew the library ladies had no sense of humor?

On a brighter note our internet came on late this afternoon right when Momma had to go out. Ahhhh, such is life.

Then tag 5 more cats or dogs.

Thanksgiving Day...Over the river and through the woods- to Grandmother's house we go....

Well, I’d like to say it all started out on a dark and snowy Thanksgiving Eve. But, it was unseasonably mild out. I noticed a lot of activity and Mom yelling she had to do everything herself. (shrug) I was walking around confused and Dad decided to pick me up and hold me, Mom had other ideas for Dad. We finally got to bed and Mom was up very early putting these bags in the jeep and packing our stuff. Now I was getting worried. We could be going to a kennel (THE HORROR). Zoe started crying and whining, and I heard Mom say it was OK that we were going with them. Whew!! The worrying was for nothing so I thought.
Time to go, Dad driving and Mom riding shotgun. Zoe and I in the back seat with the 2 furless. One nice one, one crabby (she’s always crabby, she’s 16) It’s a 3 hour drive to Grandma’s. Zoe lies down, but I’m too excited. I like to keep active so my legs don’t get stiff. One thing I did learn was I have more than one name. Roxi Stop It, Roxi Stay Still, Roxi I’m Gonna Kill You, Roxi Lay Down. Who knew???? Anywho, we arrive at Granny’s. Granny loves us!!! She had the whole dinner ready and she snuck us pieces of pasta (our favorite) and little pieces of turkey when Mom wasn’t looking.
So the whole afternoon we ran around her house and played. Then Dad had to take us out for a walk. Granny lives in one of those retirement villages and she has no fence. We’re not used to lease walking and Mom said to dad to put on my harness. Dad bragged that when he walks us we heel. Mom did the ole eye roll. It was dark and all of a sudden there was a huge downpour, so we waited a few minutes. It got so windy out and Dad had walked us about a block to the main road and we had started down a few blocks. A huge gust of wind came and wet leaves hit me and I guess I got spooked and in a split second I slipped my collar and took off like a bat out of HE double hockey sticks. Dad had slow poke Zoe on a leash and I was bookin’. He took after me with Zoe running along side. But by the 3rd block Zoe started slowing down and I was just getting started and daddy was trying to keep up. I’m not used to cars at all because we live in the middle of the woods and cars hardly ever come by our house. He was afraid I was going to run into the street and there were quite a few cars and all old people, who he says don’t see too well to begin with. Zoe tripped and fell and Dad kept running with Zoe half being dragged. I finally stopped and Dad tried to capture me. I’m not easy, there has to be something in it for me. He took what I thought was a treat out of his pocket, (it was really his cell phone) and said it was a treat. I was tricked and grabbed. Dad got back to Granny’s yelling and saying bad words because Mommy said I told you so. Mom looked at Zoe and saw blood. She skinned her knees when she fell. There wasn’t THAT much blood. Jeesh, you’d a thought she needed an ambulance. Granny even yelled at me. My tail was between my legs for hours. I did hear Dad say he was scared when I was running and didn't know what to do with Zoe. He just knew he needed to catch me. I love my dad.
Next it was bedtime. The furless took the guest room and Mom and Dad took the foldout couch. What Mom forgot was Granny has a cuckoo clock. Granny went to bed and her bedroom is on the other end of the house and she is hard of hearing and takes out her hearing aid at night (Mom says even when she has them in, she can’t hear) so, every half hour it chimed and Zoe cried. Every hour it cuckooed and I barked. So basically it was whine, bark, whine, bark every ½ hour. Moms get cranky when they don’t get sleep and when there are 2 dogs in the bed with her jumping on her head. Now Zoe may have a slightly different take on this story but this is my story and I’m sticking to it.

Tedibear and Tinker Belle just tagged me and I'm so doggy excited!! I have to think of 7 things that I'm thankful for.

Here are the rules: Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by paw mail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.

1. I am thankful for my Dogster Family. They are the best.
2. I am thankful that my Mom sponsors a dog at the NSALA.
3. I am thankful I am a dog and don't have to go to school and do housework.
4. I am thankful my family loves me and treats me like the princess I am.
5. I am thankful for the holidays coming up because Sandy Paws visits me.
6. I am thankful that I finally got to go to the dog park last week for the very first time. (Even though no one,*glares at Mom*, has written about it in my diary)
7. I am thankful that Mom has a sense of humor about everything.

The ones I tag....

1. Daisy
2. Riley
3. Mellow
4. Zoey
5. Roxy
6. Cleo
7. Max

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been tagged by my good pals Maddie, Samantha, Annabelle Lea and Daisy DLCC.

Here are the rules of this dogster game of "tag" in case you've never gotten a chance to play. When you are tagged, you post 7 random facts about yourself, compose a "new DIARY entry" along with the rules and put them in your own DIARY. Then you pick 7 furs (kitties or doggies) to tag but make sure you tell them... a simple p-mail will do fine, or a rosette to tell them, but you must let them know that they have been tagged. Post their names also in your DIARY.

Here are 7 random facts about myself:

1. I bark for no reason.

2. I love to wear shirts. When Mom takes one off, I cry and whine.

3. I steal treats from Zoe.

4. I love to sleep all curled up with my head hidden.

5. I love baths and jumping in the pool.

6. I love all dogs and want to play all the time.

7. I hate cats and small animals and will do anything to get at them.

The 7 friends I'm tagging are:

1. Roxy
2. Daisy
3. Beau
4. Pepper
5. Charlie
6. Emma
7. Riley

So today is Zoe's woofday. Well, big woof. Mom was sick so I thought I'd add a little spice to Mom's life.
She's sitting on the couch as usual with Dogster. She's hears something outside in the pool. So naturally we follow her outside. Squirrel fell in the pool again from tree. Squirrels cannot swim. Zoe and I got interested as usual with bird nest under one of the deck beams. Well apparently the Mama bird had the babies and decided that Zoe was a threat and starts divebombing her. Zoe starts running around deck being chased by the bird.
Mom was trying to fish the squirrel out of pool with the giant scooper thing. If it just stayed still instead of flailing around, it would have been out BEFORE I saw it. I dove into the pool to get at the squirrel. I get to water logged squirrel. Mon has the skimmer in between me and the squirrel. So Mom whacks me with skimmer to get me away. And like a tennis racket swing gets the skimmer under the squirrel and up in the air. Flying squirrel!!!!!! The squirrel lands on the lawn and runs off. Mom gets me out of the pool and makes me sit outside to dry off. Zoe hid under table after the bird went back to her nest. It was a fun day!!
