Birthday:
May 23rd 1998

Likes:
Playing! Frisbee, chasing a ball, anything...

Pet-Peeves:
Not being able to remember where he left his toys, having flea medicine put on his nape

Favorite Toy:
frisbee

Favorite Food:
steak, cheese (as treats only). He eats Innova Evo wet and dry food.

Favorite Walk:
to the park

Best Tricks:
Knows basic obedience commands (sit/stay/lay/heel/off/paw/NO), will go get his ball if told (and he remembers where he left it!), and will jump in the pool

Arrival Story:
Was looking for a friend for Mowgli, and found out about a litter of pups that needed new homes. I grew up in the country and love the energy and intelligence of the herding breeds. Of the pups left, he was the one that followed us around and chewed on our ankles...should have been our first clue! lol. He is quite a character!

Bio:
Mick is very high energy and loves attention. He is a very outgoing and loving dog. While Mowgli will wait patiently under a tree for hours, waiting for a squirrel to climb down and be chased--Mick believes he can bark them out of the trees (drives Mowgli crazy!). Even though he is considered a canine senior citizen, he still makes amazing frisbee catches and will get to the point of passing out before HE will call it quits. When we have young visitors in the backyard, he "herds" them away from the swimming pool, and will bark like crazy if our water play seems too intense...occasionally jumping in to perform "rescue maneuvers"--apparently putting his paws on perceived drowning human's head is a doggie life-saving method ;-)

Forums Motto:
Life is a game!

UPDATE:
Mick was diagnosed with Stage 3, multicentric lymphoma in April ('06). Was such a shock, as other than some lumps on his chest that showed up almost overnight, he looks and acts like any other high-energy "frisbee" dog, always ready to play and get some loving. He is still a relatively young dog in his prime (7 years old), so we are hopeful for at least a few more months with our beloved friend.

Well, I'm still in remission and still taking oral chemo meds. Have lost about 10 pounds, and get tired much easier, but still enjoy playing with my pal Mowgli and my family. It's been a fun summer, and wish it would last forever...

Still doing okay

Well, I don't have to go to the vet so often for my infusions. Mom said we are in week eight of chemo, and I only have to go every 2 weeks now. I am still doing great, and even gained back some weight! My mom plays frisbee with me every day, and I am enjoying it so much. My pal Mowgli has been getting jealous that I get to leave in the car with Mom twice a week, so he likes it that I'm home more now too.
