 Quick Bio:
| -part feral | -pound dog | -dog rescue | |
 Birthday: September 1st 1997
Likes: playing ball, going for walks, food treats

Pet-Peeves: having his tail brushed, being told to "stay."

Favorite Toy: Tennis ball

Favorite Food: Steak (as treat only-he is a bit pudgy). He eats Innova Evo dry and wet dog food.

Favorite Walk: To the park.

Best Tricks: He knows some basic obedience commands (sit/stay/lay/heel/off/paw/NO), he loves to play fetch, and he does a wonderful job of chasing squirrels out of the backyard ;-)

Arrival Story: A little over 9 years ago, went to local shelter with my mother to look for a dog for HER. This beautiful, but hopeless looking fellow touched my heart. He wouldn't even look up at people passing by the cages...he was on "death row," and had already given up.

Bio: It was obvious after we brought him home that he had been abused by a previous male owner--he wouldn't let any male get close enough to touch him and would duck out of reach, like he was going to be hit. Was obvious he had a lot of love to give, but was afraid to trust. It took awhile for trust to develop, especially with my husband and teenage son. He finally decided it was worth taking a risk, despite his fear, and now his day isn't complete until my husband comes home and Mowgli can shove his big head into his "daddy's" chest for some quality petting time. He is very friendly, loving, and protective of his people. He is one of the smartest dogs I've ever met, and learns things so quickly. He has his "northern breed" stubborn moments though, and thinks if he pretends he didn't hear me, then he doesn't have to do something he doesn't want to-lol.

Went to the vet today. Mom was worried because she felt a lump on my chest. My brother Mick went to the Rainbow Bridge from lymphoma in Oct, so Mom was worried I might have a cancer too. She was hoping it was just a fatty, benign tumor called a 'lipoma.' The vet said that was what it was after all, so she was very happy. I wasn't so happy, since they stuck a needle into the lump to confirm results, but if it stops Mom from being sad, I suppose it was worth it. I got lots of treats for my troubles too.
