My Tail of Devotion for Buddy

Our dear Buddy. Words cannot convey enough to express the overwhelming love we have for our best friend. He welcomes us home from work everyday with tail wagging and barking 'hi', he snuggles up to us at night in bed when we all go to sleep, he paws at us to let us know when he wants more attention and he looks up at us with those big, brown eyes to let us know that he loves us as much as we love him. We don't have to do anything special for him and he doesn't have to do anything special for us. We just love each other and cherish the time we have together.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Boy, it has been tough this week. It seems to just constantly rain. The rain from what I here is good for us. All I know is that it is ruining my walks. When it's raining, I get stuck walking on the sidewalks around my neighborhood. This is soooo boring for me. I miss walking down the woods behind my house. But, mommy won't go back there if it's muddy. I don't know why the mud bothers her, I love it. I run through it, jump in it and try to eat it. It's lots of fun for me. Hopefully, this weekend will be better. Usually on the weekends, we go to the park and have lots of fun.

Nurse Buddy to the rescue

Daddy has the flu. He has a fever and a slight cough. Mommy has been taking care of Daddy since Thursday. It's been hard, so I decided to help. I transformed into Nurse Fuzzy, RN. I help by laying by Daddy and making him pet me. When he stops petting me, I paw at him until he has to do it again. It's important to keep Daddy active, so I make sure he pets me at least a hundred times a day. When Mommy gives daddy popsicles, I make sure that I get some too. This way, Daddy doesn't have to feel all alone eating his. I even try to eat Daddy's medicine, but Mommy won't let me. I hope he feels better soon. Being a nurse, is hard stuff

Paw pad boo boo

Over the weekend, I somehow hurt my right paw pad. The strange thing is that it isn't on the bottom of my paw, but the one up on my ankle. I split it in half. Mommy was sooo worried that she took me to the vet at 10 o'clock at night. The vet gave me yucky antibiotics and wrapped up my little paw. It looked like I had a big cast on.

We went walking earlier in the day all over the park by my house. I might have hurt it there or behind my house in the woods. I limped around for a day after we went to the vet. The wrap was huge and it was hard for me to walk. Finally, my daddy took it off. Now, I just have little bandage on it. But, it still bleeds a little.

It was kind of scary at the 24 hour vet hospital. There was a big rottweiler in there that had tried to bite a porcupine. The owner said that the porcupine was fine, but his poor dog got stingers inside and outside of his mouth. The vet had to sedate the dog and slowly pull out the porcupine stingers. He was such a nice dog. He was very big, but always tried to lick me. Another woman was there and her poor little cat had to be put to sleep. She was so upset that it made my mommy cry. We both said a little prayer for the poor little cat. At least now she's in a better place, and she's waiting for her mommy and daddy to join her.

Happy belated Easter

The Big Crash

Last night, there was a big accident by my house. We all heard a loud bang and rushed to the windows. A car had hit and partially knocked down the telephone pole and ended up crashing into the neighbor's wall. My mommy called 911 and my daddy ran outside to see if everyone was okay in the car. Luckily, the driver seemed to escape with just a scratch. I was soooo excited that I jumped and cried to go outside. I wouldn't calm down until I saw what was out there. My mommy let me out with her. The police and ambulance arrived. I would not go to sleep until I ensured the entire scene was calm. We didn't end up going to sleep until 4am. You never know when you can get into an accident, that's why my mommy secures me into the car when we go for rides.

Buddy has an earache

Buddy seems to pick up earaches at least once or twice a year. His left ear is currently healing from a recent bout. For Bob and I, I'm not sure who suffers more, poor little Buddy or us. Trying to give Buddy ear drops is quite a big to do. Buddy does NOT like anyone to touch his ears. We usually try to lull him into a relaxed state by rubbing his belly and scratching underneath his chin. We have to ensure he doesn't see the ear drop bottle. We have to drop a few drops and than hide the bottle. As long as we keep the bottle hidden, he usually remains somewhat calm. Only a few more days of the drops.
