Arrival Story:
Our precious Sadie Mae passed away in June of 2003 at the age of 15. She was also a cocker spaniel. After months of searching for a new best friend, we found Cookie at Animal Rescue of Fresno (ARF) by way of Petfinders.com. We had actually found another cocker on the website named Nanci Lee. When we called to inquire about her, they told us that she had been adopted earlier that day. Another Cocker was due in the next morning so they asked us to call back. We called ... they e-mailed us photos ... we jumped in the car ... drove 3+ hours ... fell in love and brought her home. The end.

Bio:
We later found out that Cookie was on her way to the pound because the original owners found out she was pregnant by a neighborhood dog and didn't want the bother. Animal Rescue of Fresno intervened (thank god) and brought her to their shelter. Shorthly thereafter, she had 8 adorable puppies, all of which quickly found homes. Cookie then whet to a foster home, was adopted, brought back to the shelter (because the older couple could no longer care for a dog), went again to a foster home and then found us in January 0f 2004. WE ARE SO LUCKY!!!
