Our first week home with Shadow

4 months old now

Well after all our hard work Shadow has proven to be a very special dog. At 4 months old she knows all her comands, is housebroken, and has the trainers at her doggie school amazed. She is a very loyal dog for only being a pup still so there aint no tellin whats going to happen when she gets older. Kelsey has set up a course for her in the back yard and she really enjoys running through that. She still has not chewed on thing in the house yet besides sadie,lol. Her and sadie love to play alot and just maybe thats one of the reasons she has been so good. Another thing Shadow loves to do is jump in the pool!. The pool is sadies favorite place. Last year we had to buy special stairs just for her so she could get out of the pool on her own. It is a site see when these 2 dogs are swimming around. Well thats all for now. One update, our neighbors with the attacking pit bull still have not done anything different to keep that dog in there yard, sadly its just a matter of time before something else happens.

What a weekend!!

Well on saturday march 11th we picked up shadow from the breeder. What a cutie she is. Very playfull at times but loves to sleep,lol, where ever she wants to. the big question was how would she get along with our 6 yr old springer. We had them meet up at the school yard and it went great! Sadie had no problems with shadow and would finally have a play mate. Sunday came along and it started out fun, Sadie and Shadow started by having alot of fun in the morning. By mid afternoon Shadow was down for the count,lol. So my daughter wanted to take Sadie out for a walk around the neighborhood. As she started down the street our neighbors pittbull mix was loose and attacked Sadie. Sadie was trying to protect my daughter
but the pitt was to strong for her. I was able to stop the fight but not before sadies leg was ripped apart. We were VERY lucky it wasn't my daughter, and that sadie protected her from that dog. Sadie had to have surgery,several stitches, drainage tubes, and the cone collar. She has done awesome in the healing process and hopefully all will be good physically. Sadie now goes to the window, or when she is outside and stares at the house with the dog lives. Almost like she is waiting for the dog. Hopefully the neighbors do something with that dog. It has now been labeled dangerous by the town but there isn't much they can do. Meanwhile my daughter is slowly getting better, she is afraid to go out front, and has nightmares of the attack. She will never forget that but hopefully as time goes on she will be ok. So lets hope this next weekend will be much quieter,lol. So what a high of new pup, then the low of the attack the next day. Well at least Sadie is doing great, things are going great with her and the new pup.
