Buddy, Bubba, Bubbers, Baby Boy, Arlo Barlow

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-dog rescue

Gotcha Date:
March 3rd 2005

Going to the local dog park where he has lots of friends! Spending time with his humans, laying in the sun, or on the couch, talking walks and greeting people. He's quite social! He's been known to lay in my arms and fall asleep - (Awwww!)

The purple "dancing Boohbah" gotten quite a reaction! Walking through sprinklers and wet ground. He doesn't complain much though.

Favorite Toy:
A squeaky fuzzy squirrel, a bunny that plays "Easter bonnet" that I've had to sew up twice, and anything his girlfriend Lola picks out for him!- he'll fetch but doesn't bring it back often - he gets fixated on one daily at the park and chews on it...

Favorite Food:
He's SO Food motivated... He's spoiled with canned senior natural balance and kibble since his teeth are soft and damaged from puppyhood in the streets. :( We mix that with dry Natural Balance and water for a "stew".

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood, so many places to sniff and *ahem* call his own! ;) Also, from the car to the dog park brings out the "happy trot".

Best Tricks:
Shake is is forte (we're working on "high five" that his new girlie friend Sierra does) and he does a GREAT 4 legged upward pounce that just cracks us up! He's not much into pouncing these days, he's 12, but his Catahoula friend, Lily sure brings it out!

Arrival Story:
Via Petfinder we found Baja Animal Sanctuary. They have a fantastic program with fostering before commitment. I'd say we knew within a few days that this was the right doggy for us! We were so nervous at first, especially with an old cat. Now we can't imagine our life or home without him! Our forever thanks to Sandra who works with the sanctuary - and who introduced us to "Palomo". After about a week we finally decided to rename him "Arlo" and he's our boy!

We don't know how he came to the shelter in Baja, Mexico, but he seems so appreciative of his new life here in San Diego!

I'm so excited! My girlfriend is at our house now! We met a few months back when she stayed with us while her parents went on vacation. I really missed her when she left, and my mommy was told Sierra seemed to miss me too.

Well... she's back! I can't stop nuzzling her neck and licking her ear (she seems to like it, and whimpers in such a cute way!... woof!) I even move over for her on my bed, share her with Mommy and Daddy pretty willingly (as long as they remember I'm numero uno) and hang out with her outside quite a bit.

My usual daily routine is now disrupted!

8:00ish: Waking up, usually to mom massaging me good morning, perhaps an invite onto the bed for some morning love with the parents.

8:00ish continued: Sniffing outside, perhaps doing pee-pee then back inside (brrr... too chilly in the morning!) and onto the couch for a catnap

11:00ish: Breakfast then a nice rest on the rug, couch if mom is watching tv

2:00ish: Another sniff outside, pee-pee if necessary then back inside, resting once again... waiting.... waiting for....

5:00-6:00: Dog park!!! Of course I've saved going poo for the dog park where I have my favorite grassy areas to do my business. I dunno why Mom keeps picking it up - I always try to hide it in the tallest of grasses where no one will notice it... she always finds it, though! Phew - with that load off, I'm ready to play with my bestest friends, Kenzie, Luna, and especially lately, Gracie!

Lemme tell ya, with Sierra here, we only get in a few naps between hanging around together outside (she waits by the screen until Mom lets us both out to go lay in the sun or play) and after she eats, she's always ready to rumble! She tires me out, but I wouldn't change her for anything! I believe she brings out the dog in me!

I know Mom and Dad want her to stay. I overheard that her parents *may* want her back - it's a trial period, whatever that means. I know she's perfect for me - I so hope they all decide we can be together, forever!
