Arrival Story:
after our 14 year old standard dachshund, baxter, died, we knew we wanted to get another doxie some day. we were going to take it slow, and wanted to start out by getting to know breeders before they even had the litter we would adopt from. over that week, we started exchanging emails with various breeders. one of the breeders invited us up to the dachshund field trials being held by the northern california dacshund club, where we met several great people. one breeder, that we had been exchanging emails with, she said she had 1 available. she was a small one (and i've always had good luck with runts), which was why she hadn't been adopted at 4 months old. we fell instantly in love, she was a total sweet heart, with a great temperament. so, we made arrangements to meet the breeder at her house later that week. 4 days later (2 days earlier than planned, because we just couldn't wait), we took her home.
