Arrival Story:
I never owned a dog before Foxxy. I always thought I was a cat person. One day I was looking at the online classifieds. I was checking out the pets when an ad for pomeranians jumped out at me. My daughter was knocking on the door at that exact minute. She ran home accross the street from school. She had a news paper in her hand and said she came to show me the ad. I knew I had to follow up then. That is when I decided to get Foxxy. ********************************** * It is with deep and profound sadness that I share with you the news of Foxxy's passing. Foxxy passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Saturday August 22 2015. She woke me at around 2:00 am. She was panting rapidly and unable to calm down. I called the vet right away and rushed her to him. I could see she was in distress. She had been having trachea problems and was being treated for her coughing. In the end it was her heart that gave in. She had a massive heart attack in my arms at the vet and passed away. Despite all efforts she succumbed. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I loved Foxxy as much as anyone can love and surely as much as I could love any human child and of the latter I have four. She was a member of my family. For eleven and and a bit years Foxxy lived by my side. We shared the same bed. We traveled together, shared our meals and brought comfort to each other through good times and bad. I always thought that it was I that comforted Foxxy through the thunderstorms but she was the one that comforted me. Foxxy was my guardian, protecting me from intruders and sounding the alarm when strangers approached the house (Mail Man). She loved children. She would do her pretty Pomeranian pirouette and dance and smile when she was excited to see someone. Foxxy was my very first dog. I loved her so much that I ended up adopting her brother Wolfgang and Daisy the Yorkie. She was never jealous of the other dogs or even of the cats. She was The Queen. She mothered Wolfgang and Daisy and tought them to be good little doggies. In the yard she took great joy in chasing off the birds that would land in her space. And true to her herding dog roots, Foxxy would bump you in the back of the legs with her dainty little nose and guide you to the house. She would also do this when a guest would try to leave as she was highly social and enjoyed the company and did not want them to leave. Words cannot describe the pain and loss that I feel. All that I can say is that I am so glad to have had this special little beauty in my life and that she enriched my life, was a very important part of it and I will love and miss her until I breathe my last. ********************************** ***** Pawprints Left By You***** You no longer greet me, As I walk through the door. You're not there to make me smile, To make me laugh anymore. Life seems quiet without you, You were far more than a pet. You were a family member, a friend . . . a loving soul I'll never forget. It will take time to heal - For the silence to go away. I still listen for you, And miss you every day. You were such a great companion, Constant, loyal and true. My heart will always wear, the pawprints left by you. -Teri Harrison
