Arrival Story:
Originally went to the pound to pick up a daushund we had seen in the newspaper, but there was a line a mile long for that dog! (they eventually drew a name out of a hat) We decided that that pup was pretty well set, so we looked around a bit. All the other dogs were barking and yapping and jumping around, but Max just followed our every move with his big sad puppy eyes. How could we leave him after that??
Bio:
About a week after we got him, Max started showing signs of being really ill. We took him to the vet and found out he had PARVO!! He was hooked up to an IV for 4 days, and quite listless for awhile after that. We didn't have much hope, but gradually he became more playful and active! The vet said that we were lucky because we caught it in the early stages, but that Max probably wouldn't be the smartest dog in the pack....Yeah, he's a bonehead sometimes, but we still love him!!
