Back up, pray, turn, twist, speak and he knows all of his tricks in American Sign Language as well
Mikhah had been tied up and left for a week with no food or water and chewed the rope that was holding him and was wandering the roads when someone rescued him and gave him to me. The owner wanted him back but when he discovered the amount of the vet bills and the fact it was documented that his collar had grown into his neck and he was malnourished and dehydrated he decided to give him to me. I am sure I indicated the circumstances clearly enough that if he wanted Mikhah back I would turn him in for animal abuse with the vet supporting me. Mikhah's original name was Slick.
Mikhah is high energy, very intelligent, loyal and very thoughtful about he does things. He senses my feelings, protects my mother, watches out for Arashi, another Siberian Husky who has epileptic seizures and is a good babysitter for the Chihuahua and the Miniature Pinscher playmates. He dreams of the day when he will be Alpha again and tries to imiatate Kimo. He sleeps with the cats and thinks everyone has to tow the line or he will let me know about it. Mikhah and Arashi both know all of thier tricks verbally as well as in American Sign Language. Mikhah can learn a trick either the first or second time I show him what I want. Mikhah is definitely a quick study sort of guy. He loves to jump up in the kitchen window to see what is going on inside that he should know about and also to let me know that he wants to come inside. What a guy! He is a very creative thinker and has come up with some rather unique solutions to what he sees as a problem. Once when I was watering the blueberries I forgot to move the hose. He saw the water and mud and his solution to the water problem was to pull the blueberry roots up! Pictures above to prove his determination.
Mikhah was the April 2004 Punk Pet of the Month at www.mydarndog.com. His winning photos included ripping the blueberry roots out of the ground and destroying his first swimming pool. He won a frizbee and will be one of the months in the mydarndog.com 2005 calendar!
Mikhah washes Renny's face for her before dinner and lets Miyuki Mikado, the cat, clean his huge ears while they are waiting for dinner. It's too funny to watch but at least I have a photo of it!
Sadly, 3 days after Arashi passed away, I found out Mikhah had a terminal tumor and only had about 2 months. Yesterday the tumor reached his spine and he lost control of his hind quarters. It broke my heart because I knew I couldn't let him suffer and had to make the decision that would mean I would no longer see his loving eyes looking back at me. He is on his journey to Rainbow Bridge where Kimo and Arashi are waiting to greet him and show him all the good places to play in heaven. Kick up some stardust my dear, precious friend to send all the memories back to me for I couldn't bear to not remember any one of them. Your creative problem solving through your 12 years was always a topic in my book of things you did. God speed my precious friend.
