I'm getting tired

I'm over 16 now and I think it might be time for me to take a trip to the bridge.
I had it so good for so long and it's just time to make room for a new pup down here. A little one who can run and play and enjoy things the way I can't anymore.
Not that I don't enjoy it down here, it's just that I'm so tired. I'm over 16 years old and I think I'm entitled to some rest now. I think I'll go lay down and watch my family for a while.

When I do get there, I'll watch over each and every one of you.

To think before last night, I only ever wrote one diary entry before!
*giggle*
It is SO nice to be loved by both my family and the people and PUPS at Dogster.
I'm going to miss all of you as I will be packing up and leaving for the bridge tomorrow, but it's OK.
I WANT to go.
I am SO tired and I've been sick for a while. Mommy and dad have taken care of me for so long and it's time to give them a break now too.
My body needs to rest now and I'm ready to watch over everyone from the bridge where I can do more good as an energetic and sprightly pup than as the broken down, old doggie I am here.
I am ready- and I know that with all the love my family has with their friends here at Dogster (and Catster too) they'll be OK during those difficult times after I leave.
Thank you to all of my friends again, for being my friend.
I will miss you, but I will be with you.

It's raining today.
I would have liked to see the sun one last time but it's OK.
I like the rain. It's peaceful.
And fitting.
In just a few hours, I'll make my trip.
My family is very sad I can see it in their eyes, they have already started to cry.

Last night I had a pizza party!
Dad came home with a whole pizza- my favorite food and gave me a few slices!
I never get WHOLE SLICES!
I LOVE pizza- especially the crusts when they are chewy with a bit of cheese on them. It was a good crust last night, I was happy that they remembered to think of it.

OK my friends, I think it's time to say goodbye to you all.
I really should spend my last hours with my family and walk around my house one last time.
I want to remember all of this and all of you for making my time around here so special. Especially yesterday- My Daily Dairy Pick and all of the p-mail and rosettes and special gifts I received from so many of you. Thank you all SO MUCH. I will be forever grateful to you for making my last day here on Dogster AND on Earth, so special.

At 11:55 AM EST, I crossed over the Rainbow bridge with Dad and Mommy at my side.

I have the DREADED task of trekking up to Boston tomorrow morning for a job that *may* last as long as 3 months (die-hard NY YANKEES home) . I will be traveling back and forth between there and home, but I have no idea how often or for how long when I do.
I will have my laptop, but I honestly do not know if and when I might have the chance to log on to Dogster and "check in".
I have not been active much since Don and I helped Gonzo cross the bridge (for obvious reasons) and of course, it's ironic that just as I'm ready to get back to business and THANK EVERYONE for their rosettes / stars, e-mails of support, etc, I am called away.
To all our friends, please know that every thought is appreciated and I hope that you know that you are all in our thoughts for well wishes and happy days each time we think of Gonzo.
