Arrival Story:
I bought a Basset Hound pup two years ago. I named her Kuki. She has more than 24 red marks in her PCCI papers-- proudly a descendant of both sire and dam champ lines. The biggest joke however was that as Kuki was growing up, her ears never grew to be like that of bassets. Instead, hers looked more of even a shorter version of beagles' ears. Her body was getting to look more of a native, than the purebred that she was supposed to be. In short, I was short-changed by the breeder! Well, to appease me, the breeder promised to give me another pup, and this time for free. A year later, that's how I got Lumen. Just a footnote... I just had Lumen spayed, about a month ago. She developed a cherry eye, which is said to be hereditary. And she has weak hind legs, like she is indeed a product of some problematic genes! I wouldn't want Lumen to pass on to the next generation any of her genetic defects. Irresponsible breeding has to stop, right here, right now... with Lumen at least.
