Walks! sniffing, keeping an eye on things from front yard, drinking dirty water, tug-of-war

when the scary cat stands near her food, being bathed/brushed, thunderstorms

Favorite Toy:
rope chew/tug toy

Favorite Food:
tasty tidbits that she has stolen off of low tables when no one is looking

Favorite Walk:
around the neighborhood - stopping to sniff every few steps

Best Tricks:
getting us to walk her by looking sad and pathetic

Arrival Story:
We got her at Stone Head Dog Ranch about ten years ago. She had only been there for a few days. She had fur mats and ticks in her ears. When we got home she ran around the backyard like she was the happiest, luckiest dog in the world!

Maisy is very scared of non-natural water- hoses, wadding pools, sprinklers and bath tubs. The farthest that she has ever traveled was from our house to Wilmington, NC. While we were there she slept in the garrage on night, in the morning she had squished herself into a baby stroller- she had been scared by a tiny frog.

Nature Hike

This afternoon Meg packed me up in the car and we drove to Long Branch Nature Center. There we met Judy. First Meg wanted to look at the boring old wildflowers that were in the native plant garden. Thankfully (for me) it was still too early for most of the plants to bloom.

Judy, Meg and I walked along the path that followed the stream. I even got my paws wet! There were lots of great, unusual smells.

We saw many dogs in a new "dog excercise area" that was only for dogs to romp around in! It looked like much more fun then a regular dog park- It had rocks and water to go in and a big hill and trees. All of the dogs who were there were big, and I was a little too nervous to go in.

Meg was excecited becasue she had a chance to let me use the cool "fold-up fabric dog bowl" that she bought for me on friday. I wasn't thirsty but I took a few sipps just to make her happy. :)

Woof! I'm gonna sleep well tonight!

Tuseday the 14th of March

After my walk this morning I hung out in the front yard on my long leash- listining to the noisy birds and gaurding the house. That was exhausting so I slept the rest of the morning and early afternoon in my comfy bed.

Around 4 p.m Meg woke me up and we went outside. It was really nice outside! I kept a look out, while Meg drew dog cartoons. Two dogs were walked by the house. One was a sheperd-ish mix, who I see around the neighborhood all the time. I barked really loud and he ran away! (Silly Meg said that his owner just walked him down the street and out of view, but she doesn't realize what a ferocious house-wolf I am!)

The other dog that walked by was one who I have never seen before. It's owner stopped to talk to Meg, she said that it was rottwieler/ somthing mix. I forget the second type of dog that it was, but it was white and very fluffy.

Nothing much happened during the evening, and soon I was in bed.

Thats all for now. -Maisy
