Arrival Story:
I had been wanting another dog for some time. My daughter would take MARLOWE with her for a few days each week and I would really miss them. When we moved in to our new home with its fenced yard I knew the time to take on another dog was approaching. I thought I wanted another Golden because they are so fun and laid back. However, helping a dog in the shelter is a high priority so it turned out to be someone unexpected! My daughter and I made many visits to the shelter and looked at bulletin board ads, etc. and although all dogs are great, our dog had not appeared...One Monday afternoon in early March I found myself at the pound with a very strong sense that I would find my dog, and I did!

Bio:
URSULA was just 3 months old when I found her at the shelter. She had already been in the shelter for a month receiving medical treatment for kennel cough, canine alopecia, and had already been spayed at her young age. She had been put out for adoption just the day before! She had apparently been out roaming in some pretty mean January/February weather which had weakened her at such a tender age. She was in an unfortunate state. Ursula was, nonetheless, so loving and fully connected to the positive experience of our meeting and she captured my heart! It took a solid 6 months of supplementation and support for her to improve and catch up from her early life experience. Even still, at the age of 2 + years of a simply wonderful life, her being still shows signs of this traumatic, depleting beginning. URSULA is a big, beautiful treasure!

I came from the pound; or well, that's where MoM and I found each other. I was about 3 months old and had downey pup fur and seriously looked like a Great Pyrenees pup. We were psyched about that! I was going to be a big, mellow, kid-loving, mythical beast of a dog. When I turned 1 year old, I began showing my traits from somewhere else... My soul mate sister MARLOWE is a full bred, curly coat Golden Retriever. MoM called her 'Fluttery' due to the pretty way her fur draped over her and moved. I seem to have some of these fur traits myself, and I am not as wide and big as my fellow Pyr pup cousins have gotten to be by my age. We really are happy to realize my combination in breeding. Afterall, MoM originally loved my sister Marlowe's Golden Retrieverness which is the breed she kind-of thought she wanted, when she met ME! She says I am the coolest combination of dog-and I still look like a mythical beast.
