My sister!

Wow, I haven't been on here in so long! But I thought you should know about my SISTER. She isn't my real sister--mom and dad got her from the humane society. But she is the best present ever! She is going to have her own page where she can tell you all about herself, but I can tell you that I love her and I love to chew on her ears all the time, especially when she is not paying attention to me. She likes to play rough and tumble like I do, even when the neighbor lady yells at us for kicking up too much dust. Sometimes, like when mom and dad get home from work, she gets even more excited and crazy than ME! She runs up to me and starts jumping on me and punching me in the face, and I'm like "...Yeah, I know, they're here, what? It's not like GUESTS or anything." But I guess she is real excited to see them. She also sometimes steals my toys, but I don't really mind that much. We have a lot of toys.

Anyway, life is better with another dog around. I'm a lot calmer now that I have somebody to play with me all the time, and I still get plenty of love from mom and dad so I'm not too jealous. Although they don't let me up in the bed anymore--they always mumble something about me being too dirty now. Can you imagine? That's no excuse!

Gotta go see if Rosie wants to play tug of war.

My new toy, Angry Mad Kitty, is the best toy ever! I can't stop playing with it! It squeaks, and it's fun to chew, and when I shake it it's all floppy...I love it!

Mom says "Best $9.99 we ever spent."

I am also still a big fan of red rubber devil. He makes a very interesting noise when chewed, and hasn't lost any parts yet even though I have had him for more than a month. He was free, though, because I found him in Gumpa's back yard and ran away with him.

A big weekend for a little brown dog!

Mom and Dad have been really busy lately and not playing with me as much as they normally do. I was getting sad and bored. Also hot, since it's getting to be summer now. But this weekend we went on an adventure! First we drove down to Gumpa Jay's house where it was all trees and rocks and good places to poop where nobody could see me. I couldn't sleep or eat because I was so excited to check everything out, and I got in trouble for marking the couch. But it was fun to see a new place! Then in the morning Mom and Dad put me in the back of Gumpa's big white van and we drove for a looooooong time (but I could lick their arms and walk all around in the van, and my bed was there for napping, so it was okay) and then we were at Mimi's house! Which is also Wolfie's and Atticus's house! Wolfie taught me how to bark at stuff that goes by in the woods, and how to be interested in chasing tennis balls. I taught him how to go to the dog park and play nicely with new dogs. His dog park is REALLY BIG and has lots of play equipment and stuff. It was awesome. I can't believe he had never been there before! No wonder he makes such terrible sounds when I come over--he is not used to playing with other dogs that are not Atticus. Except he does remember me and every time I visit he does it for a shorter and shorter amount of time. This time he really only did it the first day, and a little bit on the second day whenever I got too close to his mom (I don't know why he cares about that--I have my own mom! I don't need to steal his!) But now that he knows how, maybe he will go to the dog park more and get even better at playing with new dogs, and next time I see him he will make the bad noise even less, or maybe not at all!

We had fun playing all weekend all the time, and also sleeping around our Moms and Dads feet on the porch while they played Scrabble a lot. Then when we got back in the big white van, I went to sleep and have barely woken up since! I have a lot of sleeping to do to make up for all of that playing!

I like this "vacation" stuff. Let's do it again. After my nap.

Livin' in Comfort

I got a big boy bed this weekend! I liked my old bed, but it was pretty small—I had to curl up in a tiny ball to fit inside it, and mostly I just flopped out over the edge onto the floor during the night. (There's a picture of me in it above, but I'm about three times that big now. The bed stayed the same size.) But on Sunday, Mom and Dad brought me home a big fluffy circle bed, and I L-O-V-E love it! I can stretch out and lounge like a “Hugh Hefner” (whatever that is) and not even touch the carpet at all! Even though I had to circle 9,482 times before I could lie down, I never wanted to get up again. I love it so much that I forgot to get up and ask to get in bed with Mom this morning until right before her alarm went off. I was just so comfy, I never even noticed when Dad got up, and he has to step over me to do it!

I guess I’ve been a very good boy lately. If this is what comes of it, I think I might stay that way!

A Visit from Wolfie!

My cousin Wolfie visited me this weekend! I was so surprised! It was awesome, though, having him around the house all the time. When he first got here, he didn't remember me from before and kept barking this awful ear-piercing yelpy bark that kept getting us both banished outside (sigh). But soon we were playing together like champs again. I like to herd him by pushing against his side with my chest (he's so little and curly!) but he always barks when I do it. He drank my water and played with my toys, but I didn't mind. It was fun to have a playmate! I was SO tired from all the constant playing after he left, though, that I had to sleep the whole entire rest of the day, and the night too!

Other than playing, we also went on a hike with Mom and Dad and Mimi and Grandma Allie and Dave and Uncle Kyler. And we saw a rattlesnake! Mom saved me from stepping on it, thank goodness! Wolfie and I both got cactus in our paws, but it was worse for Wolfie because he is curly, so he got it all over himself. He even got a big chunk of cholla in his chin hairs! He also almost died from running out into the middle of Campbell Avenue when we stopped to get breakfast that morning, but Mom and Mimi finally saved him, after a lot of screeching tires and shouting and running around happened. It was scary for everybody! That is why you do not jump out of the car when the door opens, but wait for your Mom or your Dad to tell you it is okay.

It was a very eventful trip! When can we do it again?

Update: I love my flap!

My flap is awesome. I can go in and out all the day long! Whenever I want to! It's so fantastic! Also, Mom and Dad used to put a baby gate up so I could only go in the kitchen and hall and bathroom when they weren't around, but then for the last couple of days they didn't do that. So today I found lots of cool stuff in the living room to chew up and strew all over the floor! Mom was sooooo mad when she came home, and she told Dad that what I chewed was two DVDs, a remote, a candle, a computer connector thingy, and part of her school project (and then he said "The dog ate your homework?" and she laughed...I don't get it.) but it all just tasted like toys to me! I heard them saying they're going to start putting the gate up again, though, so that part isn't so cool. Oh, well. I had fun while it lasted!

Also, tonight, NYSSA came over! My one true love! Mom was showing her where all my food is kept and where my leash is and teaching her all my commands...I don't know why, but I hope it means that she's coming over to play with me more often! I loooooooooooooove Nyssa! I like to jump all over her like a crazy maniac and bite her skirts! Mom and Dad always yell at me but I can't help it I just get so excited when it's HER!

Time for bed now! Snorts to all.

I don't get it

Mom and Dad keep calling it "paint" and getting real mad at me for licking and drinking it, but it just smells and tastes like a delicious treat to me! Also great for rubbing up against when wet. OOOH BOY does that get mom upset though!

I like hiking in my new harness, by the way. We've been doing it every weekend! One time when we went to the cafe after, a man gave me a cup of meat! Best. Day. Ever.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: the other day Dad cut a HOLE in the kitchen door, and then he swore a lot, and banged some stuff, and drilled and sawed some, and I ate a bunch of sawdust, and then there was a flap in the hole that I am allowed to go through! Now I can sleep in the kitchen during the day when it gets too hot outside! (Though I am still a little unsure about using this flap. I've done it a bunch, but only with encouragement so far. It's a little weird-feeling on me.)

I'm an Outdoors Dog!

We went hiking today, and swimming in a natural pool at the bottom of a waterfall! I did great, even off leash! It was sooooooooooo fun! I could run around in and out of the water like a maniac and it was fine! When I got home I was VERY tired, but it was totally worth it. I hope we go again soon! I've added a couple of pictures as evidence.
