Bogie is a retired champion. He came to me at six years of age, when his breeder (from whom I had bought my previous Kerry) learned that I had lost that dearly loved friend...and offered me this wonderful new friend. (He likes being a pet a whole lot better than being a show dog!)
Bogie is the current holder of the unofficial title of WMSKBT (World's Most Sociable Kerry Blue Terrier). He has appointed himself the designated local greeter, and happily runs up to every dog, adult and (especially) child to say hello. Accordingly, everyone in the neighborhood knows him by name. He loves to see all his friends, human and otherwise, and actually seems to get a bit depressed on those rare occasions when he finishes a walk without visiting with one of them.
Because Kerry Blue Terriers are groomed to have a big beard, the neighbor children often ask me: 'Where are his eyes? Can he see me?' (He can.) People sometimes ask if Kerry Blue Terriers are really blue. They are (like blue herons). You might be able to see Bogie's blue color in some of his pictures.
Bogie is a very sweet, gentle little boy. His favorite toys are soft, fleecy animals, most of which he has never bitten hard enough to squeak. He grabs a toy whenever he's happy (virtually all the time), and carries it around like a little friend.
When he's offered a biscuit, Bogie does an amazing real-life imitation of the Snoopy happy dance, and then takes his treat very gently. He always brings it to his own "bed" to eat it...unless it's a very small or broken biscuit, in which case it's not worth the trip.
Bogie is one of those rare souls - animal or human - without a trace of meanness, anger, jealousy or naughtiness in his nature. His tail wags whenever he's awake...and sometimes when he's asleep. He is the most loving being I have ever known, and he shares that love with everybody.
