Pet-Peeves:
The constant stream of dachshunds going in and out of our home. Roxie also hates the gardener, the mailman and anyone wearing a baseball cap. Her biggest pet peeve, though, is when Mommy leaves the room.

Arrival Story:
As a cat person, I was a little reluctant to have a dog. However, my husband is a dog person. We went to the local pound together and picked out Roxie, a sweet old lady with one eye. Although she was supposed to be my husband's dog, he had to work long hours at his job for the first few months of her life with us, so she bonded to me, instead. She now knows and loves her Daddy, too, but she's still a Mommy's girl ... which is fine, because her Mommy is now a dog person, too! Once we realized how smart, gentle and kind Roxie was, we registered her as a therapy dog. As soon as we complete basic obedience classes, Roxie and her Mommy will begin visiting convalescent homes and retirement facilities.

Bio:
Roxie loves people of all ages -- children, adults and seniors -- which makes her a great therapy dog. She only has one eye (we're not sure what happened) and she's technically an old lady, but she is in extremely good health. She enjoys her work as an Animal Assisted Therapy dog for the spcaLA.
