Arrival Story:
I adopted Jersey from the Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue. I had recently lost my Beagle/Cavalier King Charles Mix and was looking for a new dog. I checked petfinder.com and found a dog that I fell in love with. By the time I got my application in and approved, she had already found a forever home. So, I held out and just waited...I knew the perfect dog would come. Then, a few months later, the rescue got a momma and 9 puppies at the rescue. I was able to have my pick since I'd been waiting oh so long. So finally on August 21, 2005, I got to bring my little Jersey girl home...life hasn't been the same since!

Bio:
Jersey was born in North Florida. Her mommy was found as a stray on the side of the road, very pregnant! A few days later Dixie gave birth to 10 Beagley pups. The woman had never had a dog before and didn't know how to care for them and so she contacted the Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue. A volunteer at the rescue flew his private plane to the Florida Panhandle to pick them all up (although the rescue was told there were ten puppies, only nine showed up to be taken to Tampa...)! I think it's very interesting that she was already earning frequent flyer miles before her little eyes were even open. We're still trying to figure out just what else is mixed with the Beagle...we're thinking maybe Basenji?? She's got long legs, a pretty lean body and a curly tail.
