We have lived in our new home in Colorado now for nine months, and we love it! We have our own back yard so we can go outside and play, and when we have to go pottie, we don't have to put on a leash. Daddy was home in June and he bought us a doggy door, so we can go in and out when we need to, or want to. I love laying in the sun. It is so nice a peaceful, and warm. Sometimes it gets too hot, then I move into the shade.
When we lived in San Diego, we always had to be careful of the coyotes, owls and hawks. Here, we don't have to worry too much about things like that. I'm glad. I feel a lot safer here!
It's starting to get colder here. When we moved here, it was cold, and sometimes there would be white stuff on the ground that Mommy said was snow. All I know is that it made my butt cold when I had to go potty! Buster is lucky, he's a boy. But not me. Still, I liked the snow. It was fun to play in. Then it got warm, and it reminded me of San Diego, with a lot of sun and warm temperatures. Now it's getting cold again, and Mommy says it will start snowing again soon. My poor butt!
Daddy is still gone. He was home in June for two weeks but then he had to go back to Kuwait. He is coming home again in a couple of months. Even though he is far away, he still talks to Buster and me in our minds. I'm so glad he learned how to do that! He said that he will only be able to stay home for two weeks again, and then he has to go back. I wish he didn't have to leave again. But he said that he will only be gone this time for four months and then he will be home for good. That makes me and Buster happy. And Mommy, too. She has to do everything while Daddy is gone, and sometimes it is almost too much for her. But she is doing such a great job with us, and with everything. I love her so much.

Mommy is so busy right now, packing up all of the things in our house. We are moving to Colorado. She and Daddy got us a really nice house there, bigger than our house here, and we even have a fenced-in back yard so we can play without having to wear our leashes all the time!
We saw a lady who can talk to us just like we talk to each other. She was really nice! I had so much to tell her, too! I wish Mommy and Daddy could talk with us like she does. I mean, they do talk to us, and we understand what they are saying, but when we talk to them, they don't understand us. It would be really neat if they could.
I told the nice lady that I am going to miss all of my friends. She asked me what friends, and I told her the birds that live outside our house. I see them every day in the windows and doors, and we talk to each other. But she told me that there will be new friends there. I hope so. I'm not going to miss the coyotes here, though. Or the skunks! They smell too bad! Yuck!!!

I love the summer. It gets light early and stays light later at night, so when we walk it is always light. I don't really like walking in the dark. I'm always worried there's some big coyote or something right there in the dark that wants to jump out and eat me. I know my mommy and daddy will protect me, but what if the coyote is too fast for them?
Daddy went away almost two months ago. Mommy was really sad, and she cried, but Buster and I gave her lots of kisses and she started feeling better. She said that he just had to go away to work and that he will be coming back home for our birthday. I miss him, and I'm glad mommy didn't go away to work to! It's bad enough when she goes to work and is only gone for a few hours! But, Buster and I usually take long naps when she goes to work. I do hear daddy's voice sometimes, though, on the thing mommy calls the tell-a-fone. I can hear his voice, and his laughs, but I can't see him. At least I know he's somewhere, though.
So mommy is doing all the things daddy used to do, like feed us and take us on long walks. And sometimes she takes us on longer walks than daddy did! I get really tired then, and sometimes she picks me up and carrys me. I'm glad she does, cuz my little legs get tired from all that walking, especially going up hills! But we do get to smell all sorts of new things, and meet a lot of people and other dogs. We've seen a few coyotes, but so far they have stayed away from us.
Mommy did buy some new lights for outside at night when we go outside before bed. It is very dark around our house, and the coyotes can come right up out of the canyon. But with these lights, it is almost as bright as daylight, and mommy says that keeps the coyotes away. So far, she's right! Thank you, mommy. You're the best!
