Arrival Story:
George was brought to my veteranarian to be put to sleep after his owner was put into a nursing home. For some reason, the family thought that a nine year old dog was too old to adopt out. The vet disagreed and held onto him until a permanant home could be found. I came in looking for soft claws for my cat, saw George and it was love at first sight. I took him home and we completely bonded within days. Now he will not let me out of his sight...he is slowing down quite a bit in his old age but he still is able to radar me out. The trauma of switching homes at such an old age has made him fearful abandonment, and I try not to leave him for long periods of time.

Bio:
George came into our home from a quiet, calm senior home. He was immediately confronted with toddlers and school age children, cats and three puppies under the age of a year. He is such an incredible dog that he just took it all in stride. The puppies jump all over him and two years later he still sighs and looks at me as if to say "HELP!"...when they are done they roll into a ball against him and sleep. When this happens, his expression says, "FINALLY!" And he joins them for a nap. He is great with the kids, great with the cats and such a loving, sweet dog...we are truly lucky to have had the chance to rescue him into our family. He is a blessing.
