Arrival Story:
A friend of ours had a black labrador. She mentioned the mother of her lab delivered another litter of pups. One pup was chocolate and the rest black. We wanted a chocolate lab, so we called and arranged a meeting. We drove all the way to San Marcos (San Diego County) from Orange County just to see the pups. It was love at first sight, but we had to wait a couple of weeks before we could bring her home. After she came home with us, it took her awhile to get used to being without her mother. At the time, we had two poodles and Cheyenne thought she was a poodle. She became good friends with the poodles and adopted some of their traits.

Bio:
Cheyenne is a purebred labrador and is registered AKC. Her mother was a yellow labrador and her father was a chocolate. However, they do not carry the gene to produce yellow labs. There were nine pups in her litter and Cheyenne was number four. She was the biggest one of the litter and the most active.

Calamity and I are still trying to train Victory in the art of housebreaking. If anyone has a suggestion, we are willing to listen. I think what we have here is a failure to communicate!

Oh! Victory is at it again! She attacked one of the stuffed toys and bit the face off. Then she chewed on momma's favorite calendar and shredded momma's current resume. Maybe I will call her "JAWS" instead of Victory. She has been dragging my favorite dog bed from the bedroom and down the hall. What is that all about? There are three other dog beds in the house, but she has to choose mine. She is still afraid of the TV; why I do not know. We are going for grooming next weekend. What a joy that will be!

Since my last entry, there have been some developments. The new dog, VICTORY, has chewed a pair of reading glasses, a collectible toy car, a fly swatter, and shoe laces. She stole a pound of hamburger from the kitchen sink and ate the whole thing. She didn't leave any meat for me! WOW! And they said she was a "picky" eater. She is picky alright. She picks out what she wants and eats it!
During the last three weeks, Victory had a couple of "accidents" in the house. I do not know how to make her understand that we go outside to go potty. She plays with a few toys, but dislikes the tennis ball. It is a good thing because the football and the tennis balls are all mine.
