Arrival Story:
I met my mom at the Willamette Humane Society (I had been put in the night deposit box as a baby). My mom just bought her very first house so that she could have a dog (apartments aren't great for dogs). I have been the queen of the house ever since mom brought me home.

Bio:
I really only love my immediate circle of humans: my mom, my new daddy, my uncle...all others are intruders on my space. But for those that I do love...I ADORE them! I have this annoying kitten for a sister. I don't like it when she sniffs me, but I guess it's my fault because I sniff her too. I'm getting better at being friends with other people, it's the other dogs that bug me. I mean, I want all the attention for myself.

I don't like the 4th of July!

What is all the human's obsession with things that make so much noise? I hate the sudden pops and crackles of fireworks and firecrackers...yuck! I did pretty well not getting too scared, but I must say I do like to hide in the back bedroom just in case. My mom knew that I wasn't going to have much fun outdoors on this Independence day, so I got to be in the house ALL day! It was AWESOME!!! I tried to look cool for the kitten so as to not be too much of a weenie, but I could see that she didn't much care for all the ruckus either. I'm still not sure what the neighbors were doing with all of the shenanigans that they were trying to pull, but boy am I glad that mom was looking after me! I wouldn't want to have to jump the fence and run away only to get captured and taken to the pound as if I'm a prisoner or something. Then mom would have to come pick me out of a lineup and pay to take me home. I hope that all of you other dogs have good moms that kept an eye on you on July 4th...I don't want to have to go down to the dog jail and plead to the warden for your release! :)

Sadness

Today is a sad day at our house. My daddy had to take one of our cats to the vet because the cat was sick. But when daddy came home, the cat wasn't with him and daddy was crying. I heard him tell mommy that the cat (Buddy) was gone. At first I was a little bit excited to think that Buddy was living somewhere else and I would have the whole back yard to myself, but then mom started crying too and I know that when mom cries it's because she's sad. So then mom had a little chat with me and told me that Buddy was so sick that the cat doctor had to send him to cat heaven early so that Buddy wouldn't hurt anymore. It wasn't an easy thing to accept. I mean, I'm not the biggest cat fan in the world, but he was my brother and I felt bad for chasing him lately since he was old and sick. I guess I'll have to think twice now about chasing the little kitten around the house...nah!

Oh that pesky meter reader!

Oh that pesky meter reader was around again today...boy is he a bother! He thinks he can just waltz right into MY yard and do whatever it is that he does. He never even bothers to bring me treats! How rude! Usually mom remembers that he's coming, so I get to sleep in the mud room. The mud room isn't so bad at all. I have my own pillow, a bowl of water, a window to the outside and it's not cold like the garage. Plus there's no kitten there to bug me! Woo Hoo! But today mom forgot about the mud room and I had to bark my head off at the guy. So it's not really my fault that I had to protect my people, my yard, and my house? Right? I was just doing my job! Well, at least I won't have to worry about that intruder again for a whole month. Maybe now I can get some sleep! :)
