Arrival Story:
My girlfriend has a Golden and we got involved with the local rescue group there in Texas. I was a part of their St. Patrick's day parade when they asked me to walk one of the foster dogs. By the end of the parade I asked if I could adopt the one I had walked. Unfortunately/fortunately he had already been placed. I then filled out their forms and about 2 weeks later Baxter came for a visit. I got him on April 15th tax day.

Bio:
All they know about him was that he had been a stray, had heartworm but was now free of heartworm and had MANY tick bites on his stomach that needed to be treated. At that time his name was Custer, but that didn't seem to fit him nor did he respond to it. We tried many name out on him with a beer theme and followed the "----ster" pattern. Foster seemed the best that we came up with. At that point my girlfriend said "Baxter" and he reacted to that name/sound. So I guess HE pick his name.
