Arrival Story:
I had wanted a Dane for as long as I can remember. I knew I wouldn't ever get a dog until I owned my own home. When I closed on my first house in November of 2003, I just knew I had to have one. One day, I went to the shelter just to "look" at all the sweet animals and as I glanced over to the dog kennels, I couldn't help but notice the height difference in one of the dogs. I tried not to get too excited but off I went to her. There she was - a purebred and had just been surrendered. I just couldn't leave without her!! It was fate!! The previous owners said she was too hyper!! Well, hello - she was still a puppy, regardless of her size!! They said she was a little destructive too, but I crate trained her as not to harm herself or all of my furniture!! I guess she also liked to chase their cats around. I just had a feeling I wouldn't have the same problem with my cats because they are tough when it comes to meeting other animals. She is such a good girl considering it doesn't seem like she was taught much in her first home or given much affection/attention.

Bella is just the sweetest girl. She loves being around people, other animals and children. She is very socialized and even gets down on the ground to greet small dogs. I don't think she got much affection before and now she is the biggest love bug and adores getting kisses. It also worked out well with my other cats. They stood their ground with her and actually she was afraid of them!! They are all now warming up to each other. She loves to show off for others but still seems slightly camera shy! I'll get more pictures up soon! I finally have one of her and the cats too!! She is very content as long as her Mommy is with her!!!!
