Arrival Story:
We had lost our 2 black labradors in 1999. They were great dogs and being sister and brother they were very attached to each other. The male died from cancer and the female died 1 month later we think from a broken heart. Of course our hearts were also broken because they were 1 month short of their 12th birthday. We decided that we would never get another dog because it was too hard to say good-bye. But 1 year later we saw this ad in the paper for labrador puppies. I called the breeder and actually became close friends with him and his family but we still were not ready for another dog. 6 months later the breeder called us and said that his other female was going to have puppies and would be ready to leave the mother by Christmas. We decided to go and check out the mom and dad (also on premises) and just fell in love with them. Nov. 3rd a call came in that mom was in labor. We rushed up the next day and there were 9 little puppies. A week later we went up again and then 3 weeks later and she basically picked us out. After a lot of soul searching we decided to get a female which we named Buttercup Girl. (because she is yellow). That is how we got her and we brought her home on December 17th. just before Christmas. What a Christmas present that one was. Buttercup has turned into a very relaxed labrador as she ages. She also has a new little sister Bella and they both love and play together as if they were mother and daughter. I am saddened to say that my dear Buttercup passed away in April. She was diagnosed with spleen cancer. She only had issues for about three weeks. I was with her from the beginning and was with her until the end. I miss her very much as we had 13 years together. RIP sweetie pie. May your legs be healthy on the other side of the bridge and you will be playing in the sunshine with DOG and Bella. Till we meet again. Love you forever sweet girl.

Buttercup has a yellow labrador dad and a black labrador mom. Dad is kind of crazy and mom more relaxed. Both are beautiful dogs. Came from good stock.
