About to turn another year older...

My litter brother Max and I will be turning four this year. Mommy can't believe how the time has flown by. She is happy that my eye has been doing well since my problem first began two years ago. And she is happy that I have been pretty healthy since then... After we adopted Sophie two years ago, Mommy said she would be the last addition to the family. But a little abandoned kitty jumped out at Daddy at work and has been staying with us ever since. My big brother, Koda, is NOT happy about it at all. And I have to say that I don't really like sharing the spot light with him either. But Sophie, on the other hand, loves to play with the kitty. It's been 2 1/1 months since Daddy and Mommy brought him home, and they still haven't decided what to do with him. If it was up to the dogs, it would be 2 votes to 1 to get rid of him. Mommy & Daddy also keep talking about another addition. I'm not sure what that is all about yet. They haven't brought home anymore animals. And everyone keeps asking Mommy how I am going to handle it. Hmm.. I'll guess I'll have to wait and see about this new addition. For now, I'm looking forward to the fall and all the fun that it will bring, including my birthday, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.

Maybe dogs go for walks, but I'm a princess.

Once again, mommy has been taking me (and Koda and Sophie) walking out at the walking trail. For some reason, she thinks that just because Koda likes to go for walks, I do too. Well she is very wrong. She tried to have me walk around the trail again today, but I stopped until she put my bag down, and then I ran and jumped into my bag. I love being with mommy out at the walking trail, but I would much rather be carried in my bag rather than walk the trail. I prefer staying in my bag whenever necessary or possible. My eye vet allows me to stay in my bag during eye examinations now. And she calls me princess because of it. I can't help it. I didn't ask to be a princess. I was just born one.

Having Fun

Well mommy took me to the eye doctor 10 days ago, and everything is going fine for now. My eye had a 50% chance of healing on its own, and thanks to everyones kind prayers it healed on its own. Mommy and daddy were so happy. And mommy knows that it was all thanks to everyone's prayers. Mommy has been a little busy lately, but she wanted to let everyone know that we are grateful to this great community. We can't say thanks enough. XOXO Jesserbelles and mommy

My eye.. once again

So finally my eye was better. But then I had to go to the eye specialist today for a re-check. Well the eye specialist decided to cut away a portion of the skin graph because it was just the connecting piece. Obviously it was important because now my eye is doing horrible. Mommy and I will probably have to travel to the eye specialist again tomorrow. We are hoping and praying that it can be saved again. If it can't be, I will officially be a one eyed dog at the age of two.

Looking forward to Christmas

This morning I was on the ABC Chicago 7 news. Mommy submitted a picture of me and told them how much she loved me and how much I love my doggie purse. Mommy and Daddy and I were excited to see me on there. My next big thing is this Tuesday. I am suppose to be getting more work done on my eye. But, the weather has been pretty frightful, so it may have to wait a little longer. Mom and Dad are both nervous about getting more work done on my eye. Lately, it has been doing well and they do not want to jinx that. We will see what happens as the day draws nearer. I'm looking forward to Christmas and and all the family gatherings (with my pup pals of course). Mommy is off school for the next four weeks, so Koda, Sophie, and I are looking forward to spending lots of time with her. We hope that she takes us on a few bank trips. We love those. One thing that has not been a whole lot of fun is all of the snow. Don't get me wrong, I like snow. But, it is over our heads right now. Mommy and Daddy are taking us to the bathroom in a designated area for the time being. Hopefully some of the snow will met soon.

Thankful that my eye is doing better.

I got to spend Thanksgiving with Mommy all day. Sophie and Koda went with Daddy. Mommy and I had a great time eating and playing board games at Mommy's Grandma's house. Later, Mommy and I met up with Daddy, Sophie, and Koda at Daddy's Mom's house. There was so manyof us dogs there. Koda, Sophie, and I got to see Kato & Molly, and my and Koda's sisters, Brie, Faye, & Irish. I loved being with Mommy (and Daddy) and my pup pals on Thanksgiving. It was a real treat. I can't wait until Christmas. Mommy and Daddy have already put up lots of Christmas decorations that have spiked my curiousity.

Seeing the eye vet

Tomorrow morning mommy and I are going to see the eye vet for my last recheck visit. We are crossing our fingers in hopes that all goes well. The last recheck visit went very well, painful, but very well. If all goes well tomorrow, I finally get to take the e-collar off. I'm so excited.

Getting Worse

My eye problem just won't get any better. It just keeps getting worse. And if it gets any worse, my eye will have to be removed. Mommy and Daddy took me to get surgery on it this morning. The lady doctor fixed it as best as it could be fixed. It has to heal this time because if it doesn't, it will be coming out. Mommy is doing everything she can to make sure that doesn't happen. We have a long road ahead of us, but we are going to try and save my eye the best that we can. Mom says I'm going to look more like a pirate than a princess now. But that's okay because I'll still act like a princess.

Nasty Little Eye

I went to the vet today with mommy (on my 2nd birthday). She took me to the vet that I like. So I was a good girl, and I let him see my whole eye. But it wasn't good news. He showed mommy my ulcer. She was horrified by how big it was in comparison to the last few that I had. And not only do I have a huge ulcer, I also have a puss pocket in my eye. And in addition, I may also have glaucoma. Mommy is very worried & upset, and I am in a lot of pain. We are going to see an Ophthamologist as soon as mommy can get me into one to find out if I have glaucoma. Judging by the looks of my eye, I probably do. Until then, mommy is putting eye drops in my eye to make it feel a little better. So anyway, so much for my 2nd birthday.

My 2nd Birthday

Tomorrow is my second birthday. Hopefully this next year will be a better one for me. This past year has not been the greatest. For starters, back in May, I lost my favorite playmate Bella #1 to a coyote. Then I got a sister, Faye, who I couldn't take home with me. But Mommy and Daddy did eventually adopt a sister for me, but I still like Faye better cause she is blood. Also, my eyes are a bit sensitive, and I keep getting ulcers in them. The one that I currently have is worse than the ones that I have had previously. Mommy is doing everything that she can for me but to no avail. So I may be going to see the vet for the second time in in three days tomorrow on my birthday.
