Favorite Food: Koda's favorite food is people food. Favorite Walk: Koda loves to walk where other dogs are walking. He loves to walk the trail out at Kesling Park with his Mommy. He also loves to run off through the neighborhood and visit Max & Lizzy, and then run across a busy road to visit Toby, Chloe, and Bella. Best Tricks: Koda's best trick is walking on two legs. Arrival Story: We were about to move into a brand new house. And we decided that we wanted to get a small dog sometime in the future. Shortly before moving into our new house, we were told about a man who was selling Shih Tzu puppies. We were unsure about having a new puppy in our brand new house. But, the man selling the puppies brought the three unsold puppies to one of our softball games. Before we could see the puppies, they had all been snatched up by other people at the softball game. Luckily, his younger sister was able to grab the last one. Unknowningly, she grabbed the only boy. We went and looked at him between innings. And, tt was love at first sight. Two weeks later we became the proud owners of a very vivacious dog that we named Koda. Bio: Koda is a black and white shih tzu. He loves people and is intrigued by dogs. He just has to sniff every dog in his sight. If you give him a puppy treat, he will do tricks. He loves to play and has lots of energy. Because he has so much energy, we got another dog to keep him entertained. His favorite games are tug of war and tag. He loves to be chased. He does not enjoy long hot baths. Clearly, Koda understands that Jess was bought for him. If he wants to play with Jess, he wants to play with Jess. Koda will bark at his owner and Jess until Jess plays with him again. Koda tends to have first dog syndrome. Apparently, he is a little spoiled. He ALWAYS wants to go bye-bye with mom. If mom goes out without him and she comes home late, he gives mom an earful when she gets home. Koda is a cuddle bear. He loves to cuddle with Mommy. And lastly, Koda always wants a puppy treat. Four years ago, Mom and Dad adopted me and took me home, well not exactly home. I had to stay with my grandparents for the first couple of weeks because mom and dad's house wasn't finished being built when they adopted me. I was the only dog for most of the first year, and I got all of the attention. But, that didn't last for too long. I guess I was irresistibly cute, because six months later grandma and great-grandma both adopted a shih tzu. And then six more months later, mom and dad adopted another shih tzu and my aunt adopted a shih tzu. And then a year after that, mom and dad and grandma and great-grandma all adopted another shih tzu. So now, within the four years after I was born, I have seven shih tzu playmates. But, sometimes I still have first/only dog syndrome, and I always make sure my sisters and brother know that I was here first and everything belongs to me. I still love tug of war, being chased, going for walks, and, most of all, puppy treats. Most of the time I like playing with my sisters, but they are sisters and they do get on my nerves a lot. I like to let them know (as well as mom and dad) that I am the boss. If I was a human, I would be a hunter. I swear one day I'll finally catch something. My sister, Sophie, has already caught and killed a baby bunny. But, I don't want to kill anything. I just want to chase it down and play with it and let it know that I am the boss. One thing that still scares me is water. I only like to drink water. I do not like water for any other reason. I love to relax and enjoy the weather outside. I don't like to be in the house all day. I would much rather spend the day outside laying in the yard watching the clouds roll by. My first four years have flown by and have been great. I really liked being the only dog for a while, but I do like having playmates (sometimes). For my next four years, I hope that mom and dad never go anywhere without me (which I know isn't possible but I can dream), and I hope that I get lots of puppy treats, and I hope I go on a lot of walks, and I hope that I don't get anymore sisters or brothers, and I hope that I don't get anymore baths, and I hope that I can finally catch the neighbor's cat, and I hope that everything stays great.
I can't believe it. It has been a whole month since I have been to my owner's parent's house. The last few times I was there I wreaked havoc for my mom and dad. The first bad thing I did was almost get hit by a car. And I had Jess, Chloe, and Bella right behind me. The second bad thing I did was pee on the red tweed swivel chair. And the final straw was when I peed on my dad's dad's brown suede recliner massage chair the day before Thanksgiving. Mom had a terrible time trying to clean the pee out of that chair. It was useless. The pee did not come at all. Mom and dad were so embarrassed. Mom felt so bad that she cried. Needless to say, after that incident, I have not been back since. I guess it's three strikes and you're out for me.
So last Sunday we went to my owner's parent's house and I decided to run to Max and Lizzy's house but my dad put a stop to that right in time. Well yesterday we went to my owner's parent's house again. They have a new house and all new furniture and a new puppy, Bella. Well, I had decided that I didn't really care for the new expensive red tweed swivel chair, and I thought that everyone needed to know how I felt about it. So right infront everyone I lifted my leg and emptied my bladder. To my surprise, I guess I was the only one that felt that way about the chair because mom and dad were not happy. But, they thought that I did it because Bella had probaby peed on the rug right there, and I was being territorial. But, I really did it because I just don't like that chair. Daddy says he isn't going to bring me to his dad's house anymore, but I know better. I'll be there next Sunday.
