Arrival Story:
Lilo and I were meant to be. I grew up with Newfies and knew they would always be a part of my life. I waited 8 years after leaving home before I felt like I could provide a good home for a Newf. I went to college and lived my urban yuppie life then decided it was time to share my life with a Newf again. Lilo was supposed to be reserved for a show family and I was not ready for a dog when both our situations changed quickly. I went from not being able to have a dog to desperately needing a dog (long story involving a breakup and quick move) and at 4 months Lilo needed to be in her forever home, show home or not, so after a few phone calls I got the blessing of her breeder and Lilo hopped on a plane to Seattle to come start her life with me. We've been inseperable ever since! :-) I love her more every day and can't imagine life without her. I truly believe that the right dog comes into your life at the right time. When my mom heard about Lilo and her personality she exclaimed "She sounds just like you!" Active, sassy, comedic, strong desire to be the center of attention ;-), we're certainly a pair!
Bio:
While Lilo and I were a quite a pair, Lilo really needed a pack and was not happy having a single mom that might want to go out to dinner with friends every now and then. Lilo now lives in San Diego with my parents and their two other Newfoundlands on their 5 acres. Her new favorite activities include galavanting all over the mountain, rock climbing/hopping, finding dead animals to deliver to my mom and counter surfing for all the good food that gets left out. ;-) Oh and seeing me when I come home. I'm still mom to her and we pick up right where we left off when we get time together, but now it includes beach trips and hikes in Sunny SoCal! I miss her dearly, but she is happier and healthier and never left alone now. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
