It wasn't my fault, really, it wasn't!
That squirrel had been stalking me for days, popping up here and there on both my morning and evening walks in the park. I never confronted him about it because my mom doesn't allow me to interact with rodents, even though the majority of them are, in my opinion, just begging to be caught and crunched up like so much dry kibble (with a much nicer taste!). This guy finally caught up with me on Monday as I stood near the fence in the park; I didn't think he'd recognize me as I was wearing a new tennis polo and didn't have on my usual collar with the Vintage Bunnies on it, but he did. The nerve of him! He came right down the tree to my level and, pointing downwards with his rear in the air, started flicking and shaking his fluffy tail like it was some sort of signal flag directing me to my target. Then, to add insult to injury, he started chattering and clicking away, completely belligerently. Well, that just pushed me over the edge--nevermind the cameras, the model, the photographer, I needed to shut him up, once and for all! He was smart, and stayed just beyond my reach, that's the only reason he's still walking the earth today. But, I guess in my excitement, I forgot I was supposed to be sitting pretty to have my picture taken with the tall, skinny girl, and all of a sudden everyone was turning away and the next thing I knew I was back in my old polo shirt and another (scruffier, more rustic-looking) dog was plunked down in my place. My mom seemed kind of embarrassed, and she didn't play with me much on the way back home.
I didn't want to be in that stupid picture anyways---that model was skinnier than me, and I will not be outshined!
