I'm Back!

I went to Iowa the first weekend in Oct. to pick Johnny up for a week long visit with me. While he was staying with me he needed to go to the vet because his pet sitter said he most likely had a torn ACL and a severe ear infection. She was right. Johnny's family couldn't afford the surgery or the vet bills so they chose to abandon him in my care with was fine with me.

Johnny had the TPLO surgery done by Dr. Gendreau who did surgery on his two front legs. He is doing well but we are trying to raise money to pay for the surgery. When I say that Johnny was abandoned in my care I mean that. Although Johnny's parents were decent people, they emailed me to say that they didn't think they could take care of him with the condition he was in and it would be better off if he didn't come back. Because I love Johnny like a child, I paid for his surgery and his vet bills which I really can't afford to do. The rescue he was with is helping raise money for his bills.

I want everyone to realize that I am not the kind of person that just doesn't want to pay for their animal's bills. When Johnny left to go to Iowa, he was in good condition and when he came back he has needed over $3,000 worth of vet work. The rescue said they would have put him down and so did the family because neither had the money to pay for the bills. I didn't either but I took out a loan because I felt like Johnny deserved a good life! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
