We adoped him from the county shelter the week before Christmas. Like all the best dogs, Kronk wasn't even close to what I thought I was looking for. I set out looking for a 1-2 year old rottweiler, someone a little more mature, hopefully already housetrained, who could deal with my busy school schedule. After monthes of visiting the local shelters--all three of them-- and checking Petfinder weekly, I stumbled across his picture, and just couldn't not go meet him. The first time I went to see him he was sick and had been placed in the "staff only" area, if we wanted to see him we would have to come back in twoweeks we were told. So I did and it was love at first sight. The rest of the family took a little longer to convince. A couple weeks later, we filled out the paperwork and finally brought him home on the 23rd, just in time for Christmas.
The day after Kronk came home we were back at the vet cause he was really sick. He was diagnosed with Parvo and less than 24 hours after coming to his new home had to spend 8 hrs at the vet on an IV. But he bounced back like a champ. The shelter, with so many animals to care for, had missed his booster shots. So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, make sure your dog is current on all their shots.

Mom took me to the Dam today, which is my absolute favorite so far of all the places we've been. She always makes me walk the right way, right by her side when we go across the Dam but then when we get to the other side, I get to run. I found a stick, but then I lost it, but then I found another one. Mom brought the purple tennis ball and we played fetch for a long time, even in the water. But other people started coming to fish and mom was afraid that I would run through someone's fishing stuff (He is such a goof ball--mom). So I went back onto my leash and we started walking back to the car. I was so tired after running all over that I fell asleep in the car on the way to pick up Grama!
