Pretzel Stealer

So my mom called me a "pretzel stealer" this morning. You see, here's our morning routine:
* Wake up
* Mom starts coffee
* Me and Cocoa go outside to do our business
* We come inside and get our breakfast - two small helpings of kibbles

Cocoa and I have to eat in separate places because he would eat everything and leave nothing for me. So he eats on the floor, and I get to jump up on the kitchen bench next to the table, and have my breakfast. The nice thing for me this morning is that a small bowl of pretzels was available for me at the table to munch on.

Mom was out in the den and she heard my collar hit the bowl, and heard me crunch what she thought was a kibble. She heard it again. She thought it was odd because I usually eat my food quickly (for fear that Cocoa will steal it from me) and here it was a minute or two after she fed us. So she looked over and I was sitting at the other end of the bench from where I normally eat. She thought I was bringing my kibbles to the other end, again protecting my food from Cocoa, who WAS standing right underneath me.

She took one more look and realized the bowl of pretzels was there at that end of the table. So she got up and came over. I showed her how I would get them - pretty easy actually - just put my paws up on the table and quietly grab a pretzel. So she laughed and divided up the rest of the pretzels between me and Cocoa. AND she even let us lick the bowl afterwards!

So I don't really know why she called me a pretzel stealer, because I really don't feel like I was stealing anything. They were available at the table for anyone to eat, whether me, Cocoa, or mom or dad.

At any rate, I had a nice little snack of pretzels this morning, and they were really yummy!

It's my birthday!

Hey Dogster Pals!
Well it's been quite awhile since me and my brother Cocoa have posted diary entries, but today's a special day. It's my BIRTHDAY!!! That's right, I'm a Christmas Eve baby. I'm 7 years old today.

I can't wait to see what my pawrents got for me. Hopefully something that can be JUST MINE, because Cocoa always takes our toys from me. He hoards them. I can't stand that. It's not like I steal toys from him. And the thing that bothers me most is - as soon as he steals them, he doesn't even chew on them or play with them. He just stockpiles them and stares at me. What a meanie.

Anyway time flies. Can't believe it's my birthday, and that Christmas is tomorrow. Haven't been here on dogster that much the last couple months; mommy has gotten super busy and it's been tough to keep up with all my pals here. I also have a pile of zealies to give out. Anyone need any? Because I can give some of them to you if you're in need.

Well better get to helping my mom finish her wrapping and cleaning before my birthday and holiday festivities start tonight. Gramma and Grampa are coming up to see me too! I can't wait!!

Wow, Diary Pick of the Day on Friday!

Hi Everydog! I was a "Diary Pick of the Day" on Friday! It was way cool. So thanks Dogster!!! We love you!

I went to work with mom on Friday

So mommy said it was something like "National Take Your Dog to Work Day" on Friday, and she took me to work with her! I was really excited at first, except she LEFT ME ALONE for an hour. I was soooo upset that she left me, one of the nice girls in mommy's office kept me company, but I was just nervous without mom there.

But once she got back, I was SOOO happy! And I helped mom out a lot during the day. I helped her send some emails, write some documents, make some calls, organize things in her office, and of course keep everyone company! A couple people even gave me treats.

I got SOOO tired that I had to take a break for a little while.

Hi EveryDog!
Hope all of you are doing grreat! It's finally starting to look and feel like spring here in PA. Flowers and trees are budding, and the birds are visiting us in the backyard, as well as the squirrels and deer!!!

Not lots new here but I realized it has been quite a while since I've written in my diary here on dogster.

NY Gramma and Grampa's pup Cassie, an English Springer Spaniel, went to the Rainbow Bridge back in March. She was 13+. We are all still sad, I enjoyed her company a couple times when we went to visit. But we will get through, and we know she was tired and sick when her time came.

So that was tough to deal with. But we are getting by. I had my teeth cleaned last Monday and mommy now calls my teeth pearly whites. I guess that means that they're clean. :)

We are getting ready for a big fiesta we host at our house every year, it's coming up in a couple weeks. Cocoa and I like it OK, except we need to bark at everyone when they show up. They need to know that this is OUR house and not theirs!! BOL!

OK well that's really all I can think of for now. I just hope you and your families are all healthy and doing dog-tastic!

We got to meet Bodie!

Hi everydog!

Guess what. We finally got to meet our bestest pal Bodie in person! It's a small world. Bodie's great gramma lives in our town and they came to visit. It was great. We met his mom, dad, and uncle too. Cocoa wasn't very friendly at first but he warmed up after awhile. We walked through the park and it was a lot of fun!

Bodie will be sending us pics so we'll hopefully get to post them in the next week or so!!

Tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!

Hi Everyone!

Long time no bark. Boy I can't even believe it's the end of the year and CHRISTMAS will be here in two days!

I wanted to let you all know that tomorrow (December 24, Christmas Eve) is MY BIRTHDAY!!!! Guess how old I'll be. SIX!!!! Mommy can't believe that I'm going to be six, she feels like she just got me as a pup yesterday.

Guess what, I'm going to get to spend my birthday with Gramma, Grampa and Aunt! I can't wait. They're going to come to my house and spend the day with me to celebrate.

Well.... I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Our pal Bodie had Diary of the Day yesterday!

Guess what, our pal Bodie had the Diary of the Day yesterday!!! We are so happy for him!!! He said he got lots of paw-mail and got to be pals with lots of new pups. He is our bestest pal!

1. I'm famous! Me and my brother Cocoa won PetSmart's national howl-o-ween photo contest in 2005, and we were the "spokesdogs" for the 2006 contest!! (see my pictures!).

2. I was also found on www.edachshund.com, photoshopped into a photo being eaten by a wild boar, without mommy knowing! Random. (see my pictures!)

3. Everybody that I meet loves me. I am a princess at home and Mommy and Daddy know I'm the best child in the house. I do everything they say, and listen to them all the time. I try to warn Cocoa when he's being bad, but he doesn't listen to me.

4. I can sit, shake, lay down, roll over, and sit up. I also "wait" extremely well.

5. I love sitting in the sun, and also in the front window to watch the birds, squirrels and leaves outside.

6. I get to sleep in the big bed with mommy and daddy. Cocoa doesn't! I keep mommy warm at all times. She calls me her space heater.

7. I love greenies!

I have over 500 pals now!

Hi everydog! Hope you all are doing dog-tastic. Life is good these days. I love spending time with my mommy and daddy and they've seemed to be around more recently. So I love that. And mommy says I'm always such a good girl, and that she wishes Cocoa would be more like me when it comes to his behavior. Well I ALWAYS tell him not to do what he does, but he just doesn't listen to me. So I just mind my own business during the day!

Mommy told me that she entered me and Cocoa in a pet calendar contest. It is a fundraiser for our SPCA. She hopes that we raised enough money to get in. If we do - we get a real-deal photo shoot with a real-deal photographer, which mommy thinks would be way cool. If we don't make it, she won't be upset because the contest is for a really great cause - helping other animals out!

Mommy also told me that she helped to find a home for a doxie mix named Sallie this week. She said everything worked out well, and mommy said that Sallie's new family loves her. We are so happy for her!

So guess what else.... I now have 500 pals here on dogster, and I'm so very happy about it! My 500th pal is JORDAN, a really great dachshund from New Mexico!!! I'm sooooo glad to have so many friends here on dogster!
