Jenkins cheated and tagged Lil' Bessie so I'd write a new diary entry for her!
7 Bessie facts:
1. She once sent Winnie to the emergency vet after they fought over a peice of food.
2. She had little brown eyebrows, we often reminded her of this.
3. When we lived in an apartment and there was a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, her dad would have to go sit in front of her crate and tell her to shush everytime it thundered.
3. She would attack her dad's lawnmowing shoes in the backyard when she heard planes or rumbly things. Why her dad left his lawnmowing shoes out for her to attack is a mystery.
4. She loved sunbathing
5. She had a purple collar and matching leash.
6. Her tag was a pink bow.
7. She and our neighbor's dog Cesar were good pals. He would do a little dance when he saw her for the first time when we came back from out of town.

Ok, well, she didn't know much. She pretty much knew two words: "LilBessie" and "Monkey." When you would ask her "where's your monkey?" she would go find her current toy. It wasn't necissarily a monkey, that was just her first toy. We decided not to confuse matters by specifying "ball" or "rope," she had learned "monkey" so we stuck with that!

I wanted to start a diary for Bessie as a way to put in writing (or typing!) some of my memories since my brain doesn't have saveable backup. Some memories might be sad, some funny, some showing some serious lack of judgement on her parent's part, but ultimately its a way to remember her and let a few other people know how much she meant to us.
Entry 1: One Last Thing
As mentioned in Jenkins' diary, we all went to visit my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew this past weekend. They recently lost two of their pets and my sister-in-law mentioned finding some really great looking containters/urns made by a local potter she was thinking of putting the ashes in. Regarding Winnie and Bessie's ashes, we hadn't quite decided what to do with them. We feel that scattering them is a nice idea but we don't want to scatter them somewhere we may end up living far from in the future. In addition I've felt kind of comforted having their ashes in the house (they are in the boxes they came in with their names on it). A little morbid yes, but you deal the way you deal.
Anyway, I think I've decided I would also like to keep them in a nice container, box, urn, vase, etc. Picking it out will give us one more thing we can do for them and it will be a nice way of having them in our daily lives.
P.S. I know this entry is the same as Winnie's but it really applies to both of them and it'll be the only dual entry.
