Jenkins cheated and tagged Winnie so I would make a new diary entry for her!

7 Winnie Facts:

1. She had some skin allergies that we never did figure out!
2. She had a green collar and matching leash.
3. She was great at fetch, in her prime she could jump in the air and catch the ball.
4. Elliott would sometimes decide he liked her and try and rub up against her. She had a combined look of confusion and terror when this happened.
5. She loved Treat Man, my dad, who she would sit in front of and shimmy backwards for when he walked anywhere. He passed away 6 months before her so she had a very good buddy waiting!
6. She was very well behaved at the vet
7. She liked neck skritches

Kool-Aid Man

I just realized I had forgotten to add "Kool-Aid Man" to Winnie's nickname list. We called her that because she could get through any barrier as long as it wasn't too heavy. She'd use her head to open cracked doors and bust through barriers. After a bath we'd put a garbage can in front of the doggy door which she would just bust through to get to either us or to roll in the grass. When ever we witnessed her doing this we'd yell "Oh, Yeah!" When she'd show up from out of nowhere when we thought we had blocked her off someone would ask "how'd she get out" and we'd answer, "she's the Kool-Aid Man."

Diary Intro

I wanted to start a diary for Winnie as a way to put in writing (or typing!) some of my memories since my brain doesn't have saveable backup. Some memories might be sad, some funny, some showing some serious lack of judgement on her parent's part, but ultimately its a way to remember her and let a few other people know how much she meant to us.

Entry 1: One Last Thing

As mentioned in Jenkins' diary, we all went to visit my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew this past weekend. They recently lost two of their pets and my sister-in-law mentioned finding some really great looking containters/urns made by a local potter she was thinking of putting the ashes in. Regarding Winnie and Bessie's ashes, we hadn't quite decided what to do with them. We feel that scattering them is a nice idea but we don't want to scatter them somewhere we may end up living far from in the future. In addition I've felt kind of comforted having their ashes in the house (they are in the boxes they came in with their names on it). A little morbid yes, but you deal the way you deal.

Anyway, I think I've decided I would also like to keep them in a nice container, box, urn, vase, etc. Picking it out will give us one more thing we can do for them and it will be a nice way of having them in our daily lives.

P.S. I know this entry is the same as Bessie's but it really applies to both of them and it'll be the only dual entry.
