Arrival Story:
I chose Star as the stud fee for breeding her father with her mother. She was the first one I saw born during the C-Section and the spot on top of her head looks like an Angel kissed & blessed her. Of all the litter (7 of them), she was the most loving & beautiful & still is.

Bio:
Star was only 8 wks old when she went on the airplane with me to Florida to see her grandma, uncle and cousins. Walking through the airport with a bulldog puppy is very hard and I learned that you have to give yourself alot of extra time because everyone wants to pet, hold, touch and ask questions about them. The flight attendents were so nice, they even let me take her out of the carrier so she could fall asleep on my shoulder. She was an angel and had so much fun playing with all the other bulldog puppies at her grandma's house. She and Buster go everywhere they possibly can with me and love to ride in the convertible with the top down, except when it gets over 90 degrees. Then we have to have the top up, the air conditioning on and the windows closed. But they say it's a dry heat in AZ!

Summer's Here!

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've written in my diary, but I haven't forgotten about all my friends. The past month has been kind of rough, I had to have surgery on my throat, er soft palate, which wasn't such a big deal since this really nice doctor, Dr. Ferrara, used his handy laser thingy on it. It was like I was only asleep for 5 minutes! My throat was a little sore, but nothing I couldn't handle. After all, if I could handle being pregnant with 6 little ones, and going through a c-section, this was a POC (PIECE OF CAKE)! Unfortunately, a few days after that, I got a bad infection in my uterus (pyometra) and had to have surgery to take it out. Mom says I can't have anymore babies, which I'm not too sad about, but she also told me I can't go into the shows anymore. That's the real bummer....I love going to the shows with Mom and I was getting so good at standing still for the judges, and walking around the ring.....I think Mom was more upset than I was. Now she says I may be able to go in a different kind of show, something called obedience or rally (???) Not sure what that is, but she's going to check into it and see if we can find a trainer. If nothing else, I may be able to get my CGC certification and maybe go visit sick people or those who are in nursing homes or hospitals, and make them happy! I just love seeing people smile at me and pet me on my head and butt, and tell me I'm a beautiful girl. I really hope we can do that.
Besides that, it's now getting very hot outside, summer is here and Mom got our swimming pool out, but it had a hole in it (Pearl made it even bigger) so she has to get us another one. I hope she does real soon, I like playing in the water. Wish Opal would come in and play with me, but she's too afraid to try it. I'm working on her though. Pearl seemed to like being in the pool even though there was no water in it, but she spends most of her time next door now.....I think that's her new home. Still not sure I want to try the big "bathtub" in the backyard yet.....I like to run around it, but there's an awful lot of water in that bathtub and I'm not sure it's very safe for us bulldogs. Mom doesn't let me go in there unless she's there and I have to wear that darn vest thingy on my back. Ugh!
Buster is still being a big brute, and boy is he big now!!!! He sleeps most of the day.....gets up to go outside or to eat and then back on the sofa to sleep. Still tries to make me get off when he wants up there, but I just pretend I don't hear him and keep on sleeping. Makes him sooooo mad!!

Well, have to get some beauty sleep, even though I'm beautiful enough, I just don't feel right if I don't get my 17 hours a day....Ho-Hum.....I'll get back with everyone soon......Stay cool out there!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all the dogs on Dogster. I'm so excited because the Christmas season is starting and I love looking at all the lights and glitter, etc. My beautiful babies are growing up so fast, Polar Ice went to live with his other 2-legged & 4-legged grandma and the 5 other bulldogs at her house. I hate to see them go, but know that he will be loved since my fur momma's Mom has been wishing and hoping for a all white boy bulldog and I'm so glad I could give her one. I must say he is a handsome dude who looks just like his father, a real chip off the old block and Mom says he's going to the shows with us as soon as he's able.
So now, we have 5 left....Ruby, Sapphire, Bella Jade, Baxter and Pearl. Baxter will be going to his new home just before Christmas and Mom says he is going to be living in a big, big house with 3 kids and lots of love. I think he should go to the shows with us too, but his new Momma & Daddy just want to love him and give him lots of kisses and toys and so on. Mom says others are interested in the rest of the group so we'll make sure they go to the best bulldog home possible.
Buster has been a grumpy old grandpa with the puppies, but then they do tend to think he's me when they get underneath him, and he's not thrilled with that. Opal is the perfect Aunt for the puppies, now that they're older, I let them play with her and I have to say, she has been great. It gets tiring just running around by yourself and trying to tire them out....! Oh the joys of motherhood, I'd do it again and Mom said I may get to have Floyd puppies the next time. Oooooh....now he's another real handsome dude with all red brindle and a really nice personality.
Well, have to go, Opie wants to say a few words in her diary, so I have to let her get on the 'puter. I hope everyone has a happy, happy thanksgiving and remembers all they are thankful for, and a wonderful holiday season. Lots of snuggles and wet kisses!!!

A new chapter in my life

He everyone, I'm so sorry to me missing in action from Dogster, for so long.....the last year has been really crazy. Now, I've started a new chapter in my life, that of being a Mommy. Yesterday I went to see my favorite vet, Dr. Toben, and he put me to sleep and when I woke up, there were 6 little Star puppies waiting to be with me!!! I think something happened a few weeks ago when I met my boyfriend, Polar, at the office. Ever since then, Mommy has been talking to me about babies, puppies, and being a good Mommy. Then I started gaining alot of weight and with being a "show girl" that is not a good thing, but in this case it was perfectly OK according to my Mom.
So my show career is on hold for a few months, Mom says that I'll probably make my return just in time for the Palm Springs show on New Years Day. It's going to be sad for my Mommy because one of her best friends, Linda, who we usually went with to all the shows out of town, passed to the rainbow bridge to meet her beloved Veronica, last week. I liked going with Linda to the shows, her kids, Zoe and Polar were always fun to be around....well, Zoe was too scared to come out of her kennel, but I liked being around Polar, because he was so much fun, and so handsome. He actually got his championship this past summer at a show in CA, that I missed, unfortunately.
Anyways, Mom will post some pics of my children when she gets some time off from bottle feeding, laundry, feeding , etc. They are pretty cute if I must say so myself.....even if I'm a little prejudiced.
I saw today that Little Moe crossed to the bridge, what a sad day, I so admired his courage in his fight against cancer. Rest well Little Moe, I know you are watching out for all us bullies down here. And Winston is there to help you too.
Well take care everyone, the kids are squawking and Mom says it's time to feed them. Lots of snuggles and kisses to everyone!!!!
