Wow, I can't believe it's been a year since Momma posted anything about me. She said how proud she was that Zoe was cancer free. But she wasn't. It came back and Zoe fought another hard battle but lost. I was so sad. Momma and Daddy took me, Bella and Lily with them to bury Zoe and say goodbye. She's buried at a pet cemetary. I cried and moped around for almost three months. Every morning, I ran around the house looking for her. I checked all her favorite places to sleep, including all the couches and the pet bed next to Momma's side of the bed. But I never found her.
Daddy took us for a walk in the snow today on the golf course. Bella and Lily went too. Momma made us wear our red jackets. Daddy thinks they're silly, but Momma was right and they kept us warm and dry. Momma had our names embroidered on them. Daddy thinks that's silly too. We walked forever so I decided it was time to go back home. But I forgot to tell Daddy I was going home. And then he called Momma on his cell phone because he couldn't find me. But I was sitting in the garage by the back door waiting for Momma to open the door. Bella thinks I'm goofy for going home without them. But it was cold and wet, and I wanted a treat.
Now it's nap time on the pretty yellow couch in the sitting room. Momma always has to vaccum it after my naps because I leave short black Putter hairs all over it. But it's soooo comfy! Bye for now, Love Putter

Putter lives in Western Kentucky with her fur baby parents, Bill and Susan. Since she was adopted in 2002, she has reluctantly acquired three fur sisters, Zoe and Bella and Lily.
Zoe is a full blood cocker spaniel we rescued in 2002 from the pound. We believe she was used for breeding and is now about eight years old. She is a wonderful dog and acts as the matriarch over the other three dogs. She is also a three time cancer surgery survivor, now over one year cancer free.
Bella is a full blood Boston Terrier, who will turn two on February 28, 2006. She's Daddy's Little Princess. Putter and Bella used to play and chase each other through the house, until Putter decided she was too old for that nonsense (she's three now, almost four).
Then during the summer of 2005, we acquired Lily, a Pug (an accident). Bella now chases Lily through the house (or is the other way around?). Lily is 9 months old, and is quite the charmer. She doesn't know a stranger, and loves to greet the golfers coming down her 9th fairway backyard and jump into their golf carts, sometimes to their immediate surprise. Now, many greet her by name, which makes her extremely happy. And Bella tries to coax any golfer she can to throw her squeaky, over and over again...
Putter wasn't too happy with the new additions, and her nose was out of joint for quite a while when we brought Bella home. But she adapted fairly quickly when Lily unexpectedly joined the family last summer. Putter is still "Momma's baby." She loves to sleep under the feather comforter behind her Momma's knees -- it's her spot. And she and the other dog babies won't budge in the morning until they hear the magic words, "It's time to get up."
Putter loves chasing squirrels and just recently learned how to chase the geese on the golf course. She is a loving, delightful dog and we're so glad she became a part of our family. She is and will always be "Momma's baby."
