For the 4th of July Mom and I loaded into the truck and headed to a place called The Last Resort. Really, I think it's heaven but they call it The Last Resort.
As soon as we got there Mom took off my leash and I bounded out of the truck. There were other doggies there - Seren, NeeShoo, Daisy, Jack, Rusty, Jimmy, Cleo, Cajun... other pals next door, too. And a bunch of 2-leggers who all loved me!
I went swimming! Like swimming swimming! Not just the stream swimming I've done before - but real swimming. I didn't jump off the dock like NeeShoo, Seren and Cajun did. Almost, but it was more fun to run down the dock and belly flop into the shallow water by the shore and get in that way.
They took me out for a canoe ride. That was a ton of fun, too!!
Basically I ran and ran and ran and played ALL weekend! I got wet, I got muddy (the best mud is under the walk heading out to the dock - nice thick black mud; yummie!!), and I was exhausted!
Now that I've slept for a day I'm ready to go back.
Can we Mom?? Can we?!? PLEASE!!!

Mom: Hey Beckham, you've been so good and so patient lately, why don't we head to the dogpark for our morning walk. Does that sound good?
Me: WHOOROOROOROOROO!!! Oh yes, Mom!! That sounds awesome.
Mom: It's a nice sunny morning and there hasn't been any rain for a couple days; ah, let's go!
Me: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!
Mom: Hey, Buddy, we're here. It's just us, but we can run and play ball. Sound good?
Me: It's my FAVORITE!!
Mom: Here ya go, Becks!!
Get the ball!
Good boy!!
Go get it!!
Good boy!!
Go get it!!!
Becks, bring it back. Right here.
Good boy!
Okay, go get it!
Becks! Beckham, what are you doing over there?
Becks, your ball is over there.
Becks
(Mom walks over to the far corner of the dogpark)
Oh, Becks!!
(Mom starts laughing)
Me: WHROOOROOO RROOOOOO!!!
Mom!! Look what I found!! Over here, Mom!!
(Becks starts digging wildly, then laying down splashing)
Mom: (laughing) Beckham, how do you do it, Buddy?!?
How do you manage to get SO muddy?
Ah, and why didn't I bring my camera today?!?
Me: WHOOROOROOROOROO!!!

FIP is a viral disease of cats that can affect many systems of the body. It is a progressive disease and almost always fatal.
The black kitten, United, has a fatal virus...
Mom is devestated.
Chelsea and I are wondering what in the heck is going on.
All United does is sleep now. Mom always makes sure he has the best sleeping spot when she's around (on her); and United gets locked in a separate room when Mom and Dad aren't home.
We're all trying to be good to United during his last few days...

I am ssssoooooo curious about them. Only one of them has come anywhere near me - that's the grey one, Chelsea. We sniffed each other through a baby gate yesterday.
Because I haven't slept much or eaten much since they arrived, Mom and Dad let me stay with my friend Ellie and the beagles last night. Ellie and I ran and ran and ran and had a blast playing.
I'm home again now and want to chase the kittens, but we're still being separated.
When do they go away?

THEY arrived a day early.
Chelsea hissed. I did nothing. Chelsea spit. I shook in fear. We have yet to meet again.
hmpf

...and yes, plural, as in two.
2 kittens.
2 meowing, purring, scratching, jumping, climbing, attention-stealing CATS.
They are coming to take over my house
They arrive this weekend.
omidawg what is this world coming to?!?
In my own house and EVERYTHING!!!
Mom says not to worry. She even thinks I might like them.
Like them? cats?!?
I'd like them with a side of bacon!

This past weekend sure was busy!!
Friday night Mom, Dad and I all got in Dad's car and drove to his parents' house. I'd never been there before but I heard they have cats! We walk in the door and Mom stayed on lead. I saw a cat for approximately 10 seconds. The cat saw me and ran down the steps, through the kitchen, knocked over a big wood chair and disappeared through a cat door into the garage. She didn't come out until I left. There were two other cats but I didn't get to see them either. I kept smelling them all over the house, but they didn't want to play with me.
Saturday afternoon we head north a bit and stop in Richmond. We went to go meet Santa Claus. I'm not so sure about that Santa guy. Mom says I need to be nice to him if I want any toys for Christmas... I posed briefly to have my photo taken, but I think I'll let Mom relay my toy wish-list to him.
But, when I met Santa I got to meet Sadie's dad!! He was super swell!
Mom, Dad and I went with him to go meet Sadie and Manny! FINALLY I got to meet the sweetest girl ever live and in the fur!! Oh, Sadie you're ssssoooooo pretty!!! It was so nice to see you and I can't wait to see you again!
When I got home Saturday night I was pretty tired (didn't really sleep in the cat house Friday night...). On Sunday I finished resting up and then we went to go meet Bear and Sophia. Bear is this big huge Rotweiler puppy!! He's great! Even let me steal his bones.
Sophia is a cat. Not sure what's with all of these cats lately. Sophia was fine. She sniffed me and I sniffed her and we'll probably get along eventually. Just, she ran from one room to another and I wanted to chase her but Mom and Dad wouldn't let me.
Mom and Dad are still talking about getting me a cat of my own. They even have a name picked out for her and everything... I don't know, I just don't know.
