Snow! And ice cold temps.
Startling noises and bulldogs
Everywhere, but he adores going to the vet most of all!
Say "hello" and "I love you", find it, high five and down low
Shuva was purchased from a high end breeder by my brother when he was a baby. At first, Shuva was very spoiled, flew all over the country with my brother and got 6 mile runs every day. Shuva was sent to a very fancy obedience school, too, so his obedience is nearly perfect! Not typical for huskies. Well, my brother got married, and started traveling without Shuva. The wife did not appreciate the hyper husky leaving hair all over her beautiful home, so Shuva found himself chained to a tree almost all the time. I went out for a visit, and didn't even recognize Shuva. He was all white from the neglect of his coat, and was only 41 pounds. He's 55 now. His spirit was sad and dejected, and he is a very spirited and happy soul. I took Shuva home. He was heartbroken for a while, but together we grew into the best of friends. He was only 5 years old then. He was a certified therapy dog with TDI, and people adored him. He blessed many souls in nursing homes with his silly antics and soft fur. He is 13 years old now, and still very "sleddy", but he is stiff and in pain sometimes too. It is hard to see my boy aging, but I guess that's inevitable! He was my first dog, and I will never have another like him. Shuva is extremely sensitive to moods, and he will go out of his way to cheer me up when I am down. He also doesn't like bad feelings between people, and he will make efforts to resolve conflicts by putting a paw on each person or wooing at them until they laugh. He's an angel on earth.
Shuva loves the snow! Imagine that. He does not like bulldogs, for some reason. He is very pristine, proper, well mannered, and fastidious about his cleanliness, so perhaps he if offended by them. He absolutely adores vet visits and vet techs in particular. When we go to the vet's office, he woos so loudly that techs pour out of the back room, saying "SHUVA!!". To know him is to love him and be charmed to bits!
And now I'm learning to live without him. It is a painful and difficult journey to travel, without my right hand man by my side. It will be 6 months that he's been gone in a few days, and I still can't think about him or talk about him without falling apart. Hold on to that piece of my heart until we meet again, Buddybuddy. Living without your beauty, elegance, attitude, and sense of humor is the ultimate loss.
Let's GO! C'mon let's GO!! Can we GO?
