Arrival Story:
I was given Gibs as a present when I lost my first poodle, Kelly-Boy to Pancreatitis at the age of 12 1/2. Gibs AKC name is: Kelly-Joan's Lil Heart Mender, after my first love Kelly and my Mom who gave me Gibs. Gibrien is a very special little poodle as right after I received him I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Gibs was by my side the whole time. He even was allowed to go to my chemo treatments with me which made them a bit more bearable if that is possible. I used Gibs fur many times to hide my tears and squeezed his little body to give me the strength to fight off this terrible disease. Gibs has been diagnosed with epilepsy and is now on Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide. He has to take this every day for the rest of his life. He is holding steady right now at about 1-2 seizures a month which is progress from 5-6 when he was first diagnosed at age 4. We would love to hear from other folks and their pals who have epileptic dogs and see how they are coping.

We live in Coastal Massachusetts where Gibs can enjoy runs on the beach and walks on the farms.
