1. The bone from the ham that mommy and daddy are cooking for Christmas Eve.... (I bet they wont let me have it though!!!)
2. A stocking full of goodies to chew on.
3. A long walk through the neighborhood, so I can sniff everything along the way.
4. An extra cup of kibble! Mommy????? Daddy??????
5. I just got a new bed, so can't ask for another one!
6. I want to go for a long car ride, that doesn't involve the vet!
7. Some new toys.. and lot's of them!
8. Food, food, and more food.... I'm a Lab! That say's it all!
9. I want to spend Christmas Day with my mommy and daddy.
10. I want to have a healthy 2009!!!!

1. You will find me 95% of the time with a stuffed toy in my mouth.

'2. I LOVE all humans, and other animals.

3. I barked once when I first came to live with Mommy and Daddy. They told me "quiet" and I have never barked again!

4. I know EXACTLY when it's time to eat. I gulp my food down like my invisible twin is going to get it!

My Mast Cell Tumor

I didn't want to write about this until all the surgery was done, and we got the Pathology report on the actual tumor.
It was about a month ago, that mommy noticed a growth between my toes on my front left paw. They took me immediately to the vet. After an aspiration, and sending it to pathology, it came back as a Mast Cell Tumor. BAD news! The vet put me on Benadryl, and Prednisone, in hopes of shrinking the tumor before surgery. She then did an ultrasound guided biopsy of my lymph nodes, spleen and liver. All those came back clear, thank goodness!! Then the surgery was scheduled. An amputation of my two toes would have been drastic, since I need them for balance. The surgeon decided to take the webbing and part of my pad. We were hoping that would be enough so that there would be clear margins. You never know with those Mast Cell tumors though. They can be very deceiving!
I'm 6 days post op now, and my tumor pathology report came back, with all margins clear!!! My parents are estatic, and I'm one happy girl! Now my red, swollen foot just needs to heal......

Happy 6th Birthday!

How time flies! I'm 6 years old today, and I can still run like the wind! I do have a problem though, that drives mommy absolutely craaaazy!!!! I snore! and it isn't quietly either! Mom says I snore like her grandmother used too. Sometimes she wakes me up, cuz she can't hear the tv. Hmmm...maybe that is a bit loud, huh? Anyway, Happy Birthday to meeeeee! :)

A BIG Happy Birthday to RoSie, who is 4 years old today!! She's back to her loveable self, after surgery the other day. We love you, and thank you for the happiness that you bring to us Miss RoSe!!!

Ouch!!!

You KNOW how much I dislike getting into the CAR! Well, yesterday morning, Mom & Dad put my leash on, and made me get into the dreaded car. I thought, "okay, I can do this"... I was riding along so nicely, and even enjoyed it, once I got in. Where do they take me??? No place fun, that's for sure! Even though I like the Vet, this was not what I was expecting. I get out of the "beast" and march happily into the Vet's office. After Mom exchanged a few words with the ladies at the counter, she walks me over to the scale. Now, I know I'm overweight, and don't want to step on that thing! You girls know what I mean??? Anyway, I hadn't gained any weight, fortunately. I'm expecting Mom to take the leash, but she say's goodbye to the lady, and her and dad turn around and leave me there!!! Mom has never left me before, so I don't know what to think!? They take me and put me into a kennel with a clean blanket, and I wait.......
This morning, here comes mommy and daddy into the Vet's office.. I hear their voices!!! The lady brings me out to see them, and I get to go home. Daddy say's to me ....ROSIE!!!! I sadly turn my head away from him. I'm supposed to look at him, and show that I'm thrilled to see him??? Not only did they leave me overnight, but the doctor SPAYED me!! Horror of all horrors. I'm sore, and feeling rather betrayed, AND, I have to get back into that CAR again! But the truth of it all is that I'm really happy to be back home again. I'm being VERY pampered, as usual :)

Valentine's Day!!

Hay ya'll Rosie here... Happy Valentine's Day!! What a great day for Mom to get me on Dogster!!! I've been wanting her to put me on here for awhile now, but she's been so busy!!
Dad surprised Mom this morning with some Ruby/Diamond Heart earings for Valentines Day!! He pretended like he'd forgotten this special day, but low and behold, I knew better!! See....Dad showed me the earings as soon as he bought them. I thought they were for ME at first! Gosh, I'd hate to puncture my ear, just to wear them!! I didn't get anything yet, but I know they have a treat in store for my brother "CAT species" Sulley, and I!! I know it won't be chocolate though, cuz' that's poison for sure!! I need to watch my figure anyways, as I tend to put on weight waaayyy to easy!
Welp, I'm gonna go. Mom is ready to go play fetch with me!! We BOTH need our exercise!!
