 Quick Bio:
Likes: Sunbathing, naps, briefly playiing with his squeeky ball

Pet-Peeves: Bathtime and arthritis. Anything running or being rowdy on his watch

Favorite Toy: Kong with Bil-Jac treats

Favorite Food: peanut butter, and anything Italian. Prosciutto, linguine, pizza...

Favorite Walk: He can't do long walks anymore, but he likes sniffing around on trash day.

Best Tricks: speaks, gives either paw asked for, spins, lies down, rolls over and plays dead. Flips the treat off his nose and catches it.

Arrival Story: Bear was at the SPCA only one day when we saw him. While all the other dogs barked, Bear sat quietly and waited to be noticed. It was love at first sight, even if he did pee all over us when we met. He rode home on his new daddy's lap, which made it hard to drive.

Bio: THANK YOU BEAR, FOR NINE AND A HALF WONDERFUL YEARS.
SEE YOU AT THE BRIDGE.
Bear is gentle but protective. He would let you tie him up and he would wait for you, but he chewed off a leash rather than leave me alone in the house with strange maintanence workers, with whom he was friendly but watchful.
We once came home to our basement-level apartment to find the window open and the screen removed and placed aside. Nothing was missing- Bear scared whoever it was off, and stayed around when he could easily have wandered out the window. He lets children play with him and strange puppies chew his paws. He hides if we get in an argument, but barks at anyone who even playfully smacks another person, or causes a person to say "ow!"
He's endured a permanent urethrostomy.
At nearly fourteen years old, he is starting to slow down a lot. It is very sad to watch when he would like to play and his hips fail him.
Bear waited to meet our firstborn child. Two weeks later, he stopped eating and eventually couldn't get up. We put him down the day after Thanksgiving.

Forums Motto: Not too old to smell bacon.
