Arrival Story:
I had lost my "soul dog" 8 years ago to cancer. Said I would never find another one like him. Did not want anymore dogs because the end was so painful. Did get 2 small dogs from a rescue situation, so decided it was time for my new dog. Went to the shelters and searched on petfinder for many months, then one night just when I was about to give up a picture of a male pit was on there, he looked just like my long gone "Booper", my soul dog I had lost to cancer. I emailed the rescue immed, only to be told that the dog was not available for adoption, but this dog was (they sent a pic of Paige). Well I emailed and ta;lked to her foster mom for some time and decided I would adopt her, but my vechilces were too old to travel thru several states to pick her up. The foster mom and rescue founder decided to bring her to me, but a lot of obstacles came up along the way and still I did not have my new dog. I called my sister and she volunteered to take me to get her the next Saturday and off we went. funny part was her husbabnd hates pitbulls and does not ant to put a lot of "miles" on their vechicles. Here we go, sneaking off to New Jersey, with his daughter, his wife and his new mini van to pick up the pitbull. We are still laughing over that, had to do a lot of cleaning when we got her home to get all of the hair and doggies kisses off the windows but he still never did find out. Thank goodness he never checked the miles on the van that week too!!

Bio:
Paige was found wandering around in the projects of New Jersey, very emmaciated and weak. The complex manager (who is not an animal person) for some reason took pity on her and let her come into her or carried her into her office. Paige collapsed and slept the first 24 hours, then they called the rescue lady(Linda) to see if she would take her in. Normally Linda did not foster pups but took one look at her and melted. They carried Paige down to the new suv(which had not been christened to dogs yet either) and off to rescue/vet she went. Paige waited about one year to find her forever home. She went from an inner city stray to a rural farm doggie, and a happy one at that.
