Rabbit hunting with Dad. Cuddling on the couch under the down comforter with Mom. Going anywhere with both of them! Playing with other dogs as long as they aren't too pushy or rude.

People who I don't know trying to pet me on the head. My "brother," a cat named Ripley who's kind of cranky. Being asked if I'm a Jack Russell (happens ALL the time). b Oh yeah, and my stupid doggie coat. I hate that thing.

Favorite Toy:
I LOVE my Kong (yum, yum) and I really like my Loofah dog that Aunt Patti gave me and my squeaky slipper that cousin Melissa gave me. And plastic coke bottles until I get the lid off, then they're not as fun.

Favorite Food:
Peanut butter! These yummy chicken dog treats that I don't know the name of. And really, any kind of people food.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere there are rabbits to chase!

Best Tricks:
I can do all the normal stuff...sit, down, stay, shake, whoa!, go out (for a treat)...but I do it all really fast and with gusto! Oh! And I can run REALLY fast too!

Arrival Story:
When my mom and dad decided to get a dog, my dad got on a website which listed all different breeds of dogs because he wanted to make sure he got just the right dog for them. He narrowed it down to a rat terrier or some breed that is only found in France. So mom got on Petfinder and then found Ratbone Rescues (www.ratbonerescues.com). They applied for a dog, but that dog was already adopted. They asked about another one and that one wasn't available either. Then they asked about me and I was still available! (Iwas living in Texas with my wonderful foster parents at the time.) They flew me on a big noisy thing they call an airplane all the way to Colorado. They tell me all the time that they're so glad that those other two dogs weren't available because I'm the perfect dog for them!

Ranger's mom here: Wow! What can I say about our Rangie? We've had him since May 2005 and it feels like he's always been with us. He is absolutely the sweetest boy and he loves to be close to us (and if possible be right on top of us!). He rarely barks. He's energetic but not hyper. He gives sweet little kisses but stops when asked. He LOVES to learn new things and gets so excited when we go through any of his "tricks." He's also very sensitive and can get intimidated by people who come on too strong. He prefers to approach a new person in his own time, which can be a challenge since he's so cute and people want to pet him and kiss his little face. All in all, he's such a happy, content little dog. Like he said above, he was our third choice from Ratbones and, although I'm sure the other two were very nice dogs, I'm SO glad we didn't get them. Ranger was *meant* to be with us. How we ever got so lucky, I'll never know.

This big box arrived yesterday. Mom was really excited and told me that there was some stuff in there for ME. So she opens it up and there are some new kongs (woohoo!), a Booda bone, a cool new collar...and then it happened! She pulled out not one, but TWO, new doggie coats!!! I stood there dumbstruck. "Those are for the cats, right?," I wanted to ask her. But I could tell from the maniacal look on her face that they were for me.

So I let her put them on me and stood there like a statue, trying to look as completely pathetic as I could. But she just kept telling me how cute I looked and how warm I'm going to be in them. Blech! Stupid, stupid doggie coats.

So my cat-brother, Ripley, is the featured "Diary of the Day" over on Catster! And do you know what he wrote? "My thoughts on dogs. Dogs suck. Thank you." Can you believe that? And then they encourage him by featuring him on the FRONT PAGE!

Well, here's what I have to say...Cats suck too! Well, not really. I actually kind of like cats. My cat-sister Abby is really cool. And my cat-cousin Maenerd is pretty awesome. So all in all, cats don't suck. But Ripley...he sucks. And if I didn't think he'd kick my butt, I'd tell him so!
