Quick Bio:
-dog rescue

Birthday:
October 1st 2001

Likes:
FOOD, a soft padding for his big rump while sleeping 21 of the 24 hours in a day, and lots and lots of human contact (esp belly rub)

Pet-Peeves:
Frantic people with lots of hand gestures, alcohol on your breath, getting humped (yeah, they try!), people holding canes/backpacks/walking poles, going to the vet, getting nails trimmed, shots/needles, when his sister Riley plays tug-o-war with his neck

Favorite Toy:
Udder tug (www.helpingudders.com)

Favorite Food:
MEAT and raw broccoli. He is not picky. To keep his trim figure, he also loves veggies like raw broccoli

Favorite Walk:
Chatfield Park, any walk in the snow and when it's not hot.

Best Tricks:
The suction noise he makes when he opens his mouth to jump for a treat

Arrival Story:
I was priviledged to be Rusty's caretaker after I decided I needed to get a 2nd dog to keep my very energetic (and naughty) cattle dog mix company. Someone suggested a giant breed, so that i wouldn't have 2 hyper dogs on my hands. Plus I've always loved big dogs. I looked into the Colorado Saint Bernard Rescue and was introduced to Rusty when he was 1 1/2. Supposedly he and his brothers were abandoned in Grand Junction. At first I didn't think I could handle a dog this big, but after 2 months, he had a firm spot in my household and quickly found a place in my heart. He is an utter joy to live with and he is a cuddly teddy bear.

Bio:
Rusty has ingested so many things (edible and non edible objects I mean) I've lost count. His most recent was a huge container of protein powder...he seemed more manly the next day! Fortunately, he's never gotten sick from any of the stuff he's eaten. Except when he ate 3 whole peaches and I had to take him in for xrays to make sure the pits were not obstructing him. Naughty boy!
