Bio:
Max and his brother, Duffy, were dropped off at the pound when their family of 7 years moved. Adopted then returned together (no reason given, but most likely people had no patience for very scared and confused Sheltie's) Rescued by Precious Secrets Sheltie Rescue who tried to place the brothers together then reluctantly sent Duffy home to a new family. Max was heartbroken. Max was 1st pick (by PSSR) when I offered to foster - they knew Max needed more one-on-one attention before finding his forever home and how tough it was for a 7 year old dog to compete with the youngsters. Max has such a great personality we're content to foster forever but he really deserves a family of his own. Contact: www.pssr.org for more info on Max and thanks.

"The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things. Make every day count."

I hope his new(wonderful) family will share Max's FOREVER HOME adoption story on Dogster because it defines "Everything Happens for a Reason."

Love always,

Gus and Lucy

Foster Family

Duffy and I heard them talking about and planning "the move" for months, we figured since no one was trying to find us a new home we'd be moving with the family.

Boy were we wrong!

6 years. For 6 years my brother and I had a home. Thought we had a family. It's not like they didn't have time to find us some place safe to live.

It's taken me close to a year to get the words out. The weeks just before "the move" were chaotic, the people pretty much ignored my worried looks. I was so happy when dad grabbed the leash and said, "let's go for a walk."

We walked to the car, got in and drove for awhile. When the car stopped, dad said, "sorry boys, no dogs alowed in the new place."

Don't think I'm ready to talk about the pound.

Fosterdad is asking me, "what's wrong" and to " come sit" by him.

I'll try to write more later.
