Arrival Story:
Mia is a rescue dog from ABTR (American Boston Terrier Rescue) in Texas. I found her on the Dogster site! She was est. to be 15 yrs old, hard of hearing, and had eye issues, likely cateracts. She was wandering the streets in a town in Oklahoma when someone found her. The rescue sent her to me by plane right after Hurricane Katrina and she has been adored and spoiled ever since!

Bio:
Mia has been thru quite a bit since I have adopted her. She has had her right eye removed due to glaucoma, several teeth pulled because they were broke, and had a mammary tumor removed. It was malignant but they think they got it all. She has also been losing some hair which they have diagnosed as follicular atrophy. She loves to sleep and eat her treats. And she loves being loved on and to snuggle up against you. She is an angel in disguise! UPDATE: Mia Rose crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 4/27/07 at home with her mommy by her side. She had collapsed at home the week before and was found to have severe pulmonary hypertension. She was in her bed on her pillow when she peacefully passed on. Mia is now running and playing and seeing with her perfect eyes while she waits for the time when she sees her family again.

My name is Mia and I am from a Boston Terrier Rescue in Texas called ABTR (American Boston Terrier Rescue). They saved me from wandering the streets in Oklahoma and I now live with my forever mommy in Utah where I am like TOTALLY spoiled. I miss my mama Wanda at the rescue but I know she loves me and knows I am loved:)

I have a brother named Madison who teases me alot. I just fuss back at him and tell him to leave me alone. I need my beauty sleep! He will be 4 yrs old next month.

My mommy gives me lots of hugs and kisses each day and dresses me up so I can be the DIVA that I am:) I love my clothes and think I am pretty cute if I do say so myself. My mommy told me she is going to update my page this week with new pictures and everything. I am not into toys (Madison is happy about that; he doesn't have to share) but I love soft loveys to lay against. I like sleeping next to mom. I let Madison share the bed with me.
When I arrived in Utah, I already had bad eyes. Shortly after, I developed glaucoma and despite the eye docs and mommy's best efforts, I had to have my right eye removed. I did very well during surgery. I don't see great out of my left eye but I don't let it stop me from walking inside or outside. I use my nose to guide me.

I am so glad it is spring! It gets quite cold here in Salt Lake with the snow and all and I don't have much fur to keep me warm. Mommy does put warm clothes on me so that helps. I love to roll around in the grass and drag my tummy along. it feels so good!

Well, that is enough for now. I will try to keep ya'll up with what is going on at my place. Till next time!

Boston kisses,
Mia
