Arrival Story:
Freckles had 2 days left at the shelter before she was going to be put down. My husband saw her and when the woman said that to him, he adopted her 'spur of the moment', I didn't know anything about it. He brought her home and a few weeks later when she was scheduled to be spayed we found out that she was pregnant! Then the vet mentioned a 'disposal' fee and I couldn't do it. I decided that we'd let her have the pups and find a rescue to adopt them out through because I JUST couldn't do the spay. So the vet let us know that she'd have 4-6 pups and that one or two probably wouldn't make it because we knew nothing about what she'd been through before she landed at the shelter. So I mentally prepared but was scared to death at the idea of burying a puppy. The day came and Freckles had TEN puppies and ALL of them made it!!!! They were all adopted out through Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends and are two years old now and doing great in their new homes. Freckles is an awesomely intelligent dog. She has more energy than my other three combined and she gets on the cats nerves, but she is ridiculously affectionate and sweet, she is just always on alert for anything that moves! We are just so blessed to have her, she is a sweet, sweet girl!!!
