Milo's Misadventures

Back In Black!

I'm back to my impish little self after a bit of a slowdown...! You see, I injured my paw - lost a nail actually. Ouch. Not pleasant. I was at Doggie Central - an indoor dog park / day care facility here in Toronto (which ROCKS, might I add) and somehow I managed to crack on of the nails on my left rear paw. I don't even remember doing it - my momma says I must've done it jumping onto or off of something - I do that a lot - I can't help it - I'm a MONKEY Dog after all! It didn't really slow me down at first but then the whole nail started to come off and it hurt. Mom & Dad took me to the Vet and they fixed me up (they had to pull the nail off). They numbed it so I didn't really feel anything. BUT then I had to wear a stupid paw bandage on it for like 5 whole days! They said I couldn't get the bandage wet so Mom & Dad had to put a plastic baggie on it whenever I went outside! I didn't like that. Momma couldn't take me to the dog park while I had my bandage on. BUT I'M BETTER NOW! Yay! Yesterday Momma took me to Jack Darling Park - they had a dog & Family Fun Day - there were so many doggies there! It was awesome! I raced and played and chased - I had so much pent up energy! Momma and I were in a Puppy Challenge & I won a prize! Well I think we all did but still - I got treats! I like treats! I saw many of my dog park pals: Lacy & Dickens the goldens, Rosita, Radar, and I made a whole new bunch of pals too! I'm trying to figure out how to convince Mom & Dad to take me to the Park today too! It shouldn't be a problem - I'll just turn on the charm... heh heh - never fails!

Some Kitties Aren't Nice

Mommy, Daddy, & I went to visit some of their friends today. Of course, I got to go along! I like it when I get to go along... Well their friends have a new kittie, Rockford. He's Cute! I really wanted to play with him. Thing is, he really didn't want to play with me. I don't get it. I'm friendly, I'm amazing, I am so cute! Apparently Rocky had never met a dog before. He tried to pretend he was big and hissed at me. Harrumph. I don't intimidate that easy. We could've had fun playing chase! Ah well. I had fun at the Dog Park today. I met a Great Dane named Kota, or something like that! My Mommy was laughing at how he was almost as tall as her! Nice dog, but too slobbery. I played Chase Me with a little Beagle and a cute little MinPin. I couldn't catch him, darnit! I like that dog park. I get to meet lots of cool doggies. I get to run and run and sniff all kinds of things, although Mommy is always threatening to give me a bath after we get home because she says I'm stinky. I don't know what she's talking about.

Ah, The Dog Days of Summer

Whew, What a week! Mommy & I just got back from visiting Grandma & Grandpa in Northern Ontario. The best part was... well, there were two best parts: Grams & Gramps both spoiled me rotten! And I got to play all day long with Daisy - she's bigger than me, but real sweet! Mom says she's a husky/border collie cross. We played Chase Me, Guard the House, Feed Me, Grab the Toy, and all kinds of stuff. I totally got her with all my Affen Sneak attacks. Mom, Grandma, & Grandpa were laughing so much at the two of us - I'm not sure why, I can wrestle with anyone - no matter what size! I kept trying to jump on top of her to show her who's boss, but she kept me in line. That's okay - we had fun causing a ruckus. We even both went to the Groomers' together :(. I could see better but we smelled funny. Grandpa doesn't get around much - he wouldn't chase me - but he shared his dinner with me. So did Gramma - she's a great cook - almost as good as my Mom! She might even be better but don't tell Mom I said that! I missed Dad though, he couldn't come with us. Boy was he ever happy to see me when we got home! I could tell, even though he doesn't have a tail! I'm glad to be home with all my stuff but I sure miss Daisy, Grandma & Grandpa.
